We’re delighted to announce a new Visitor Information space in Stornoway, opening this April! 🎉 Teaming up with Zone 1 (Lewis Crofters Ltd), we’ll be based at 26 Cromwell Street – the very same spot where the VisitScotland iCentre, which closed last year, used to be!

📍 Whether you’re looking for things to do, places to explore, or local events, we’ve got you covered! Plus, we’ll be sharing the space with Zone 1, Lewis Crofters' new town-centre retail store – offering a fantastic selection of goods for both visitors and locals.

A new visitor centre and community hub is planned for Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, dedicated to telling the powerful story of the Iolaire tragedy of 1st January 1919.

This devastating event saw hundreds of men, returning home from the Great War, perish just outside Stornoway harbour. Over a century later, the Iolaire Centre aims to honour their memory and share their story in a meaningful way.

The project is still in its early stages, and the Iolaire Centre have asked us to share this survey with you, as people who have visited or who plan to visit the island. What would you like to see in this space? How should it tell this story? Your feedback will help shape their plans.
