We are thrilled to announce that the 2019 Stranraer Oyster Festival is a finalist in the prestigious CIS Excellence Awards in the Food Tourism Award category. These awards celebrate the very best in Scotland’s hospitality industry. The food tourism category is new, reflecting the growing importance of food tourism to Scotland, and we are incredibly proud that our festival has been recognised in this way.

We’ve no idea what the final will involve, or even when it is, but we’ll keep you posted on the outcome. In the meantime you can read more about the awards on the link below.

Stranraer Oyster Festival has been a joy to develop and it’s something that everyone in Stranraer Development Trust is incredibly proud of, but our festival is more than that.

The festival simply couldn’t be the amazing success it is without the support of so many volunteers and supporters - including the young people who have enthusiastically supported the event over the years. So being shortlisted for this award is a real pat on the back for everyone in Stranraer – whether you’ve volunteered, traded at, helped promote or simply visited and enjoyed Stranraer Oyster Festival, this recognition is for you and for our wee toon. Thank you. 🥰

Seafood Street Food and Family Fun the focus of 2018 Oysterfest!

Chef Nick Nairn, a world record breaking bubbleologist, a seafood street food celebration, extreme pond dipping and Scotland's national Shuck--Off have been announced as some of the highlights of the second Stranraer Oyster Festival.

Stranraer Coastal Rowing Club are delighted to announce they will be holding their 2nd St. Ayles Skiff regatta to coincide with the 2018 RNLI Park Fest music festival. A selection of specialist rowing clubs from across Scotland , Ireland and Europe will make their way to the beautiful Loch Ryan as part of the South West challenge 2018.

It will be a energising couple of days that will compliment Park Fest , and offer a great spectacle for music lovers, sightseers and rowers seeing all the activity in the Park and on the Loch.
