The Lighthouse Cottages were part of a local community buy-out in 2013 of the land at Scotland’s most Southerly Point from the Northern Lighthouse Board.
The Mull of Galloway Trust was formed in 2012 with the objective of acquiring and preserving the area of national and local importance for the community and visitors to the area.
The Mull of Galloway Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) Charity Number: SC043557. The Trust owns and operates the three former Lighthouse Keepers’ Cottages, RSPB Visitor Centre, 30 acres of heathland, which is an RSPB Nature Reserve, and the Foghorn.
