The Lighthouse Cottages were part of a local community buy-out in 2013 of the land at Scotland’s most southerly point from the Northern Lighthouse Board. The Mull of Galloway Trust was formed in 2012 with the objective of acquiring and preserving the area of national and local importance for the community and visitors to the area. The Mull of Galloway Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) (Register No. SC043557) and the Trust owns the three former Lighthouse Keepers’ Cottages, RSPB Visitor Centre, 30 acres of heathland, which is an RSPB Nature Reserve, and the Foghorn. The three Lighthouse Holiday Cottages offer holiday accommodation all year round and contribute valuable funds to the Community Trust. The Lighthouse is owned and operated by Northern Lighthouse Board. Climb the Lighthouse and visit the Exhibition from Easter to the end of October. The Mull of Galloway cottages, situated within the perimeter of the lighthouse complex are furnished to a very high standard, and the kitchens are equipped with Bosch fittings. Over and above central heating. On value for money this must be one of the best deals in
Scotland. This is a 5* location run by a local Trust that really care."

💬 “This lighthouse holiday was absolutely amazing! It was a truly beautiful setting in which it was easy to relax. We also had amazing weather which was better than we’d have had at home.
There was plenty to do in the area including botanic garden and several beaches and coastal walks.
The cottage itself was well equipped and there was plenty of room for us and the dogs. The enclosed courtyard was very handy and is an extra safety feature for both dogs and any young children.
The Gallie Craig Cafe was a real treat - lovely meals and delicious cakes if you fancy a treat rather than cooking
Fantastic views and access to a coastal path makes it ideal for wildlife and walking - we saw buzzards really close up as well as seals by the beach and two roe deer wandering just outside the wall.
All we heard for five days was birds, wind and sea!!
We have already booked for next summer

💬 “What a wonderful week we have had. Nothing beats starting the day eating breakfast outside on the bench with only the sea birds for company and spectacular views over to Isle of Man. Climbing the lighthouse was a treat and we really enjoyed the exhibition next door. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting the beautiful gardens in the area – Logan Botanic Garden, Logan House Gardens, Ardwell Gardens and would recommend them all. Logan Fish Pond is also well worth a visit with the added bonus of a beach walk afterwards. Above all we’ve loved staying in this lovely cottage. It’s everything we hoped for and more. Thank you.”
