We cannot wait to launch our passenger boats, motor boats and rowing boats and get out on the river!

* Turns out there are two start dates for Spring, Astronomical and meteorological.

meteorological Spring begins on the March 1st, Astronomical Spring is based on Earth's position related to the sun and will start on March 20th.....definitely feels springy!

Absolute beaut of a sunset and a delightful crescent moon to end our first day back. The river is quiet but in the background we are sanding, priming, painting, varnishing, screwing, bolting, sawing, shaping and already excited about getting the boats back on the river in March. Roll on those summer days! 🎇

We are very proud to own one of the very few Venetian gondola's based in the U.K. this beautiful gondola is called 'The Dream' and once belonged to Stratford's very own Victorian megastar writer Marie Correlli. A celebration of her life and work is happening at the Town Hall today with 'The Dream' outside!

Amazing views from the tower of our boathouse and , nestled between Stratford's two historic bridges. You can even spot our fleet of passenger boats running from the Bancroft Gardens. A trip up the tower really makes you realise how leafy and green our town is!

Boat hire and River Cruise Vacancies.

We are looking for part-time seasonal staff of all ages to join our team working at the Boathouse and onboard our heritage fleet of passenger vessels on the river. You should have a positive attitude, enjoy working outside with members of a team, and looking after people. Some boating experience would be useful, but if not you will receive training and support to enable you be an effective part of Stratford’s oldest tourist attraction. We offer flexible weekly shifts and competitive pay. We will be interviewing immediately and employing from mid-March.

We can't wait for the river to drop and the sun to come back out! We will be back on the water in March but right now it's great weather for swans!

The maintenance work is well under way in the barn. The surveyors come each year and go over the cruisers, leaving us with a list of jobs that need to be done ready for summer 2024 🛠️

Two classics of the game down here on the Avon! The oldest passenger boat on the river 'Swan of Avon' launched in 1898 going under the oldest bridge in Stratford, Clopton Bridge built in 1484!
