We have gathered a lot of lost property over the summer holiday club days. If you see anything belonging to your child please let us know so we can put it aside. If possible collect before we finish holiday club on Friday

We are having some international food fun today for the final day of our food themed week.
We had croissants for snack then had fun decorating some pasta to make necklaces and making mini Ukrainian broken glass cakes.
Later on we’re going to try our hands at make some Belgian waffles.

Continuing food week, today the children made food art with fruit, veg and paint. Fruit rice cakes were also a big hit but the best was absolutely painting their own picture then eating it. (Edible paper and finger painted it with semi set jelly). Nom nom. 😂. All this while playing with resources where the children want to and when they want to, we pride the service on being a child led and child focused service.

Today marked the start of food week in holiday club, the children (and big children too) all enjoyed making stir-in hot chocolate, chocolate ladybirds and chocolate strawberries. Here’s a couple of preparation shots, the finished products were great as well, we just can’t show them as children’s names were attached to them. The children all did extremely well.

As part of our treasure hunting day, the children have been going on treasure hunts, making ‘real’ treasure maps, making treasure map biscuits….as well as painting these delightful treasure chests and storing their ‘real acrylic diamonds’ in them. 😂

As part of our inflatable fun day we have booked the amazing Strathaven Castles for the afternoon. Fantastic fun for the children and the parents will get some very tired children back at home time! Perfect!

We have an opening for a support worker to join our team at Strathaven After School Club based on a 25 hour week, Monday to Friday.

All candidates must hold a relevant childcare qualification, or be willing to work towards this, and preferably have current or recent experience of working in a child care setting.

We’re extremely proud to say that we’ve been awarded £1,500 by the Strathaven Round Table. Our service offers Breakfast, After school and holiday club care where we offer a wide range of child led activities for both our own community and that of other local communities. We see our service as a vital one which helps support families with childcare needs, and this award will go a very long way to helping us replace our current range of resources with new ones. It will also provide us with an opportunity to reduce the amount of plastic we use, allowing us to play our part in helping develop a more sustainable and resource efficient community.

We have an opening for a support worker within our club, 25 hours per week. All candidates must have or be willing to work towards a relevant childcare qualification. Additionally we would prefer the candidates to have experience of working in a child care setting but it’s not essential.

Just a reminder that the club will be closed on Monday 13th November due to the in-service day, we are unable to secure access to the hall on these days. We’ve looked at the possibility of using other sites on such days but it’s not going to be possible for us at the present time. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
