Just as we're coming out of lockdown and holiday accommodation will be allowed to re-open, what do they do? Close the road! What brilliant timing! Why couldn't this have been done during lockdown when the road was quiet?!!

⚠️ PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE | Balnacra ⚠️

The A890 Achnasheen - Strathcarron - Ardnarff road will be CLOSED to all traffic at the Balnacra railway level crossing during the below period:

⛔️ Friday 7th May at 1900hrs to Monday 10th May at 0800hrs inclusive ⛔️

There are two diversions available during this weekend closure:

1) A835 Garve - A832 Kinlochewe - A896 Shieldaig - Strathcarron

2) A82 Inverness - A887 Invermoriston - A87 Moriston Bridge - Cluanie - A890 Auchtertyre - Strathcarron

A full road closure is required in order to replace the level crossing road lights, meaning there will be no warning lights to stop traffic when trains approach.
