Market day today!

TODAY AT THE HALL - August’s Market Day - 10am to 2pm - Lochcarron Village Hall is bringing back the much missed monthly Market Days! The day will feature a range of fantastic local arts, crafts, food and produce as well as tea and coffee will also be available for light refreshment! Come and join us - All welcome to pop in between 10am to 2pm 🙂

Ever been to a Highland Games? The Lochcarron Highland Games are on the 20th July this year and are always great fun. With all the classic games such as Toss the Caber, shotput, tug of war and the famous Hill race which anyone can sign up for (yes you actually need to run up a hill!!).

Plus loads for families including mini tug of war and sack and sprint races. Face painting, bouncy castles and Mr Bubbles the Clown. Then there is the food, drink and local crafters selling amazing items!

1 month, 14 days to go!! Crikey, so much to do but it's very exciting. The Lochcarron Highland Games return on Saturday 20th July..at the earlier start time of 11am. Get the date in your diary..and for those wonderful locals who know how much work goes into this event, we're still short of volunteers and would welcome anyone who can give us a hand!!!!

At the end of April, a band of merry sailors left Lochcarron for a weekend adventure sailing past Plockton, around Raasay to Skye and back home via Applecross. The weather was kind and the winds were steady. They spotted porpoise and otters in the Loch and further out, sailed alongside kittiwakes, puffins, skua and a wide variety of other sea birds. At night the waters glowed bright with plankton as they enjoyed peaceful waters. Is there a more beautiful country to visit? I’m not sure there is.

After the heavy rain this afternoon, the evening has been lovely! Who visited the Highland Games today? We had a great time even though the rain towards the end was biblical! Another great event!

Its always lovely to read through our guest book, to hear the great adventures our guests have had and what they've liked about the cottage (also helpful to get feedback on what we can improve - though unfortunately we cant help with midgies or rain!
