Couldoran House

Couldoran House Large Holiday House in 5000 acre estate for rent. Ideal for walkers and families, this holiday house is warm and friendly. There are 2 kennels if required.
(11)

Situated between Sheildaig and Kishorn, the house has been a holiday home for over 10 years and has been furnished to make your holiday relaxing. The views South are to the tip of Skye and North to the start of the Torridon hills. The house sits at the foot of the iconic Bealach Na Ba and in the lee of the magnificent Beinn Bhann, a dramatic Corbett. This is a perfect stop over on the North Coast

500 route. There are large private gardens and lots of space indoors and out so that people can find peace and quiet even in the midst of their family and friends! The area is an artists' paradise; cyclists love the Bealach na Ba; there are good beaches in Achintraid and Applecross, and fantastic food in the Kishorn Seafood bar, Sheildaig pub and Applecross inn as well as in Lochcarron. The famous Attadale gardens are 30 minutes away. Guests have access to the entire house save for one office which remains locked and a few cupboards where the owners' possessions are stored for their holiday visits. There are local shops within 15 mins and 30 mins or deliveries can be obtained from larger supermarkets. There are usually some basic food stuffs (tea, coffee, sugar, spices) left in the larder. The housekeeper, Lyndsay, lives in a gatehouse on the estate and is there to welcome you and to help with any issues which arise during your stay. There are guide books in the house to suggest trips and Lyndsay can give you ideas. However, guests will be left in peace during their stay unless they want help. We may be able to help with fly fishing tutorials, hill walking guides and cooks if required.

- Minimum booking 2 nights;
- Big discount for weekly booking (35%);
- Flexible on timings, please let us know your requirements when you enquire and we will try to accommodate you!
- 2 bed studio flat in separate building nearby also available;

There are 3 cottages on the estate which are all lived in permanently. The drive is used by the small salmon hatchery (half a mile from the house) which means children and dogs must be watched in the gardens because the fencing to the drive is not secure. There are midges in the Highlands in the summer months! Well behaved dogs welcome, please tell us number and breed on booking. Dogs must stay downstairs in the back rooms (including kitchen). Strictly no smoking. Although the house is friendly and comfortable, we do expect guests to treat the house and contents with respect. The house is ideal for celebratory dinners but we do not expect wild parties. Sorry, but we do not usually accept bookings from large groups of young people: we welcome families and more mature groups. But feel free to make enquiries and tell us about your group! Fantastically placed for exploring Sheildaig and the Torridon hills; Lochcarron and Kyle of Lochalsh. Over 150 Corbetts and Munros are accessible within a day. Isle of Skye 45 mins. Situated at the foot of the Bealach na Ba, the wonderful pass to the Applecross peninsular; and overlooking the North Coast 500 route. The house is reached by its own drive which is about half a mile long. A car is a must (although there are occasional buses). Inverness 90 mins; Strathcarron railway station 20 minutes. Inverness has an airport and good railway links.
