We ship beer out in cask, keg and tanker and sometimes even boxes with beer for our small batch bottling. This box contains Cliff Edge IPA but question today is how many bottles were filled from this bulk box of beer? Closest to the correct answer, wins a case of beer? T&CS - Over 18s and UK only, winners announced Monday 16th October. Thor's word is final! To qualify of course you also need to like and share this post. 🍻😀

Yesnaby is one of the most beautiful and loved locations to visit in Orkney, for visitors and locals!

It is a great place to see the stunning seascapes, for bird spotting and trying to find the rare primula scotica flower! 🌸

Please remember to be extremely careful when walking along the coastal paths, enjoy the views from a safe distance 😊

Yesnaby is just an 11 minute drive from Unigar Cottages.

The Barony Mill, located in Birsay, features the only working water wheel in Orkney, and is also the only mill in the world milling bere!

"Bere is an ancient type of barley, found in some Neolithic tombs and was one of the earliest cereals to be domesticated. It has been milled at Barony Mill since 1873 when the present mill opened. Bere is only grown in a few fields around Orkney's West Mainland, but to this day it is still ground into beremeal at Barony Mill." Orkney.com

Beremeal is used in a variety of very popular Orcadian produce which can be found in many local shops 😍

Guided tours are available and the mill is just a 9 minute drive from Unigar Cottages!

A 7 minute drive from the cottages along to Birsay, you will find Marwick Head!

A walk up to this stunning headland will take you to some breathtaking seascape views and is a great place for bird spotting! 🪶

Situated on the top of the headland is a large memorial building. Kitchener's Memorial was built in 1926 to commemorate WWI Minister for War, Lord Kitchener, who died along with over 700 others onboard HMS Hampshire when the ship hit a mine just a few miles offshore from Marwick Head on 5th June, 1916, en-route to Russia.

Sleeping six, Cruaday Cottage is perfect for larger families or small groups. Like all of our cottages, Cruaday is modern, light and airy, while also offering cosy and comfortable living.

The cottage’s luxurious bedrooms include one double with en-suite and two twins. Cruaday’s spacious bathroom has a separate shower and bath.

There’s a well-appointed open plan kitchen and dining room, and a welcoming living room. Doors lead out to a private patio area, complete with bench and table – perfect for outdoors breakfasts, lunches and dinners (in the right weather!).

We hope you’re going to be pretty relaxed when staying at Cruaday, but just in case you need another way to unwind, or somewhere to soak your muscles after lots of walking and exploring, the property comes complete with a large hot tub.
