This has been a particularly good year for Leveret Lodge, with a record number of guests. Many of them expressed their surprise regarding what Suffolk has to offer & their appreciation for Leveret Lodge and the local area.

Lovely 2 hour walk yesterday through our woods, putting up several panicked pheasants, a hare and a deer (deer too quick to grab a photo). Had a quck chat over the fence with the cattle from farm next door, before moving on to Arger Fen.

Don’t miss Daws Hall Open Day in Lamarsh, tomorrow Sunday 10am - 3pm. Great walks, teas and cakes. Daws Hall Trust exists to teach generations of children about nature and wildlife, and its open days help fund its teaching activities. It’s surprising how far people come to see it, yet how many locals say they’ve never been! This is the last time this year, so do come.

One of the most popular walks from Leveret Lodge is to St Stephen’s Chapel (locally known as Chapel Barn).
Said to have been erected by Abbot Sampson of Bury in the late C12 or early C13, on the site of the King Church where Edmund was crowned King of the Angles in 855. The Chapel is generally open every day.

Today’s departing guests taking their last, lingering look at the view across the valley. They fell in love with the peace and tranquility, so I have a feeling we’ll be seeing them again sometime.
