Time passes. And as we get older, the passage of time speeds up and we suddenly we find ourselves a few months on, as though fast forwarded on a retro cassette player.

It may be cold and bleak outside now but blue skies will return. We are booking a lot of summer 2025 (and beyond) as having something to which to look forward is good for the soul. My repeat clients have just booked their first cruise, having had to postpone plans for a couple of years. They are excited to explore the Italian coastal cities with a city break in Barcelona to complete their adventures. It’s a spectacular itinerary.

I’m excited for them too - and looking forward to supporting them with planning day trips and making the most of their shared experience as a family. Helping my clients make unforgettable memories is why we do what we do.

My favourite part of our Mediterranean cruise was the day in the Cinqueterre villages. An easy hop from La Spezia port, it was a dream come true for me even though we only managed 4 out of the 5! I’d return in a heartbeat.

Our adventurous regulars recently returned from a tour of classical Egypt, combining a Nile cruise with tours of Luxor and Cairo. This is a must-do trip for those who are interested in ancient history as an in-house Egyptologist is available to bring this fascinating past civilisation to life.

Many of you will have partaken in one of the best cruise drinks pacakages on MSC - here is an important "fair drinkage" policy update....

From 18th December 2024 for sailings from 1st April 2025 onwards.

MSC's incredible drinks packages all will include an unlimited number of non-alcoholic drinks and up to 15 alcoholic drinks per person per day.

There’ll be plenty of time to savour all the delicious cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, while also promoting a healthy and balanced approach to indulgence, allowing the onboard team to maintain high-quality service whilst creating an enjoyable and responsible atmosphere for all guests.

Guests who have purchased drinks packages before 18th December 2024 will receive the service corresponding to their original package - ie. no 15 drinks limit.

If guests wish to order more alcoholic drinks beyond the 15 included, they are welcome to do so and will be charged for each additional drink.

MSC Yacht Club guests will still enjoy unlimited drinks within the Yacht Club area, but the 15-drink limit will apply in all other areas of the ship.

I doubt many people will be impacted by this change but if you will be troubled by the 15 drinks limit, book your next cruise BEFORE 18 December!

Here, there and everywhere… I swapped the weather forecast of “another day of limited daylight” for the wall to wall blue skies of Costa Blanca, specifically Alicante, the landing point of the marmite resort of Benidorm.

Alicante city is a complete revelation with so much to delight city break lovers and foodies. The airport is conveniently located and the city is compact enough for exploring on foot. Castell de Santa Barbara is easily reached by a 2,70 euro lift which deposits you high above sea level with expansive near 360 degrees views of the white coast and beyond.

Out of season, the city felt authentic and friendly with locals going about their business. I had some of the best gelato on Mushroom Street, a peculiar alleyway decorated with giant toadstools!

With temperature in the mid teens, it felt hotter when basking in the sun with a coffee.

I totally understand why people up sticks to escape our dreary grey days and it’s an appealing prospect. But for those without the flexibility of lifestyle, a winter shot of vitamin D is a perfect boost to get through the next weeks and months.

My last Madeira post showcases the island’s stunning beauty. We only had the chance to explore Funchal and the eastern parts during our brief trip but beauty was everywhere, even under greyer skies than we’d like.

We will definitely be back to see more, the opportunity to get outdoors and active is a massive draw for us and we’re motivated to maintain our fitness and knees to get up and down the hilly terrain.

It’s not a classic fly and flop destination though you can do this too, but it does have all the ingredients to please everyone if you do your research and planning… or consult a travel pro to help you.

So good I watched it twice... @virginvoyages is famous for its immersive shows which allows the audience to be up close and personal to the action. Persephone had its debut on Resilient Lady last week - a massive wow! I loved every second but this dance routine with the mirrored costumes was my favourite part. Here it is for your enjoyment. When your clients send you virtual hello from their hillside villa in @pangkorlautresort as they celebrate a special anniversary... 😍. This exclusive resort is a five star private island around 3-4 hour' drive from the capital, Kuala Lumpur. It's a bit of a trek to get there but boy, it's worthwhile for those with an adventurous spirit. The resort has many room options including villas on stilts over the sea. The fanciest option is the Pavarotti Suite, named after the famous opera singer who loved to stay in this piece of paradise. Hands up if you've booked a Norwegian fjord cruise with me? Then you're in for a treat! 😎 I've got real Norway FOMO after securing this most recent trip and I strongly feel the need to return for the 5th time. Loving the look of brand new 5 star Celebrity Apex for next summer I've just booked for my repeat clients - she's sailing on 16th August 2024 and is just sooooo beautiful. The prices are great at the mo and it's just £150pp deposit to lock in. I'd highly recommend this ship for those who love contemporary design and elevated service and food. The equivalent Celebrity sailing for 2023 has already sold out so you really do need to plan ahead and take advantage of the deals and early availability. We are Lindsay and Tom from Sutton Coldfield and we love holidays! For the last 20 years, we have travelled extensively, as a couple, and with our two children. We have been lucky enough to have been to over 25 countries and sailed on 12 cruises. And there is still so much more to explore!
