We always enjoy looking back at the comments in the guestbook each year at the end of the season and it gives us a warm glow. 😁

If people feel as relaxed, comfortable, and "at home", as we feel here, then we are happy and we know we have achieved what we hoped for in this little holiday escape in stunning Swanage.

As we have shared in this photo collection, some of the comments we chose are fun, cherished and thanks to the younger visitors, sometimes a little imaginative! (there really are *no* sharks here...)

It’s half term and there’s last minute availability at Off The Hook Swanage beach rental this week if anyone fancies getting away from it all for a bit of autumn relaxation.

3 bedrooms (4 beds) and 2 bathrooms. Great ammenitites and fully kitted out. Sleeps 6

DM me - rare to have a full week open as I had to fix the lockbox first before taking any bookings. Now that’s done and dusted and she’s ready again for guests 🙌🏻

Just under the wire to celebrate my official 18th year of living in England 🙌🏻.

18 years ago today I landed (rocked off the boat) with only 2 suitcases in what is now home. I’ve been here as long as I lived in New England and soon to be as long as I’ve lived in any one general location. Before this I’ve lived in MA, NH, FL, Australia, WA state, and 10 years in Colorado.

Wow this really flew! As I drove to Eastbourne this weekend in untypical lovely weather I had a huge smile. It’s such a gorgeous countryside and the more I explore the more I’m always amazed at what I find that I didn’t know existed here.

I have been here long enough to forget about Heather my sayings are British or American sometimes until I completely confuse my team with a word or saying. What did I learn where? I can’t remember anymore. The left hand side is the more comfortable one to drive on, using A’s and not z’s just looks correct and it pains me to have to change them to z’s in my PPT decks for work. I go back to America and inquire at restaurants where their loo or toilet is and get weird looks. But I can still channel my inner American when it’s needed most and have taught many here to do the same. Comes in handy if you don’t overuse it. I love how multicultural it is here. People like you for you. And not for any other reason. Life can often be harder here in many ways. And money certainly doesn’t go as far (petrol is equivalent to abiut $10 a gallon). And whilst I detest paying tax in 2 countries to be a citizen in both - it’s what needs to be as I love it here.

Whilst I’ll never forget my roots, this is home 🇬🇧
