We are pleased to announce that yesterday, Swansea Council Members unanimously supported a notice of motion asking for all people of Swansea and visitors not to purchase flying rings to ensure seals are not harmed.
In addition, all members were asked as community leaders, to encourage retailers in their respective wards not to sell them and deter people from using them.
It was highlighted that several local retailers such as Pitton Cross Caravan and Camping, Kennexstone Camping and Touring Park, Llangennith and Hole in the Wall Surfside Cafรฉ, Langland had voluntarily stopped selling themโฆthey were congratulated.
We are extremely grateful that Swansea Council Members have supported this campaign and shown leadership to protect our visiting seals from suffering.
This means that Swansea Council do not support the sale or use of flying rings in their area.
Special mention to Councillor Andrew Stevens who has supported several of our campaigns to protect our local sealsโฆthank you Andrew.
Itโs now time that ALL retailers selling flying rings in Swansea and Gower stop selling these death traps.
There is, and always has been, a safer alternativeโฆthe solid disc frisbee.
Let us make Swansea and Gower a โFlying Ring Free Zoneโ
We are determined to and so is Swansea Councilโฆbut letโs go much further and make Wales a โFlying Ring Free Zoneโ
It can be done and we are determined to make it happen. ๐ฆญ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟโค
