"We stayed in Chapel Barn, which is in an excellent location with fantastic views. One
of our group is visually impared and the Barn was perfect due to it being all on one level. It was very well equipped and super clean. "We had a wonderful two weeks at the Keepers Cottage. It is a charming place, very very quiet. the only sounds we heard were the cows mooing. Geoff, the owner, and the Clyne staff were responsive to the small problems we had...I highly recommend the Keepers Cottage. It is a refuge in the woods, yet only a few minutes from Swansea and Mumbles. There is a wonderful Indian restaurant close by with excellent food. 5/5"

"We had a fantastic stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a few days with my Mum for her Birthday and it was nice to all be together. We were in Horseshoe Cottage which had everything we needed and was clean. The welcome pack even included treats for our dogs. The garden was secure for our dogs, who loved watching the farmer in his tractor, the cows and horses. The scenery was, well, spectacular, we didn't want to leave. We will be highly recommending Clyne Farm Centre to family and friends."

🚪 24 🎉 Happy Christmas from Hettie and the whole Clyne Farm Team! 🎄 Hettie is the newest member of our equine team. She is a really lovely pony and has settled well into the team at Clyne Farm. She first became friends with Spot and they continue to be quite taken with each other!

🚪 23 Toby! 🎅 Toby has been a fantastic addition to the team, since his arrival back in February 2021. He is enthusiastic about life and thoroughly enjoys everything he does, whether it be lessons, hacks, jumping or grooming sessions! He has a very bushy mane and tail that require quite a lot of taming!

🚪 22 Santa Bert! 🎅 Bert is a great character, he loves having all of the attention. He really enjoys group lessons and jumping. He is also an escape artist, so has to be put in a stable when he comes into the yard.

🚪 21 Muddy & Kevin...and a sneaky elf! Kevin and Muddy are Mongolian Gerbils, they came to us in December 2019. They enjoy seeds, cereal and fresh vegetables as a treat. They spend their time making nests in their bedding and foraging for food. They love to tear up toilet roll tubes and playing on their wheel.

🚪 20 Festive Ponies🎄 Featuring Spot and Rocky. Rocky, nicknamed ‘The Rockstar’, is a firm favourite with our clients. He is a really good pony to learn to canter on. No matter how muddy the ground is, he is always very clean!

🚪 18 Welsh Cake the Guinea Pig getting festive! 🎄 Welsh Cake and Daffodil are our very sweet Guinea Pig brothers! They joined the Clyne Farm family in February 2022. Welsh Cake was born on 6th January 2022 and Daffodil was born in January 2020. They are both very friendly and enjoy a cwtch! They like to snuggle up together in their tunnel and their favourite foods are peppers, cauliflower, and curly kale!

Our Story

The perfect base to explore the beautiful Gower Peninsula, Swansea, Wales, UK. Clyne Farm Centre is run by father and daughter team Geoff and Sarah Haden and they are supported by a small team of staff.

The farm offers self-catering cottage holidays, horse riding, birthday parties, weddings, community events, animals to see, a range of activities, fundraisers, and not forgetting Challenge Valley - the Muddiest Assault Course in The World!

The name “Clyne Farm” first appeared on a map in 1760. It is thought however that the area was used for farmland much earlier. The current Clyne Farm Farmhouse and surrounding farm buildings are thought to have been constructed by at least 1638.

In 1971 the Haden family bought The Keeper’s Cottage, the only residential property within Clyne Woods. The Keeper's Cottage was originally built in the mid-1800s as the gamekeeper's cottage for the Clyne Estate. The Cottage has a rich history and when it was owned by the Vivian family of Copperopolis fame many dignitaries were welcomed to enjoy hunting deer in the woods, often taking tea on the lawn of The Keeper's Cottage. It is said that these dignitaries included former British Prime Ministers Stanley Baldwin & Sir Winston Churchill, and also royalty including Prince Edward who later became King Edward VII, & his grandson Prince Edward who later briefly became King Edward VIII. After a devastating bracken fire The Keeper’s Cottage was extended to create Barn Owl Lodge. Both woodland cottages are now available for self-catering accommodation.
