Big opening tomorrow π
Sam Smith Travel - Mumbles
Good luck with the new venture
Ahead of the grand opening of our Mumbles branch this Saturday at 11:00 am (which you are all invited to) - we thought it would be good to introduce the team! Starting with our branch manager Roland Flook!
Roland has nearly two decades of experience in the travel industry, beginning his career in 2005 as a Cruise Reservations Consultant for Cunard and P&O. He later served as a Shoreside Cunard Concierge, assisting VIP guests, which honed his expertise in providing exceptional customer service. Over the years, Roland has had the opportunity to explore a myriad of stunning destinations. His travels have taken him to Australia, where he enjoyed a three-week visit to Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast in February 2020. He has also experienced the diverse cultures and landscapes of Vietnam, Thailand, Canada's East coast, Egypt, several Greek Islands, Turkey, and Malta.
Roland's passion for travel is evident in his multiple cruises, including four transatlantic crossings aboard the Queen Mary 2, an experience he highly recommends for anyone looking to disconnect and unwind. His desire to explore the world continues to grow, with aspirations to revisit the Far East, particularly Vietnam and Thailand, for their rich cultures and cuisine. Additionally, Roland aims to travel to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Caribbean, return to Canada, and undertake a thorough exploration of the USA. His dream tour of Italy would start in Naples, covering the iconic Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, and Pompeii, before moving on to Rome, Florence, and Venice. Plans for his next cruise are already underway, set to sail from New York to several northern stops including Boston, Maine, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, concluding with a few nights in Quebec.
Outside of work, Roland cherishes his time as a "fur daddy" to his two cats, Merlin and Lottie, who have been part of his family since 2010. His hobbies include engaging in jigsaw puzzles, with his current project being a 3D model/puzzle of the Titanic.
