πΎ Happy National Pet Day From our Big Beagle Family πΎ
π A little background of the Pitton Cross Pack.
Sam has always had Beagles and her first born Ralphy, was her travelling buddy. While living in America they saw so many places together and lived in a lot of great places too! Seattle, Portland, San Antonio and even cruised Route 66 together.
Later, Sam found Riley wandering the streets in San Antonio, Texas, and since no one claimed her, we did. Her microchip had her registered in Okinawa, Japan of all places, and it turns out she may have been a drug sniffing dog, that was retired in San Antonio - since it was a big military town and possibly why/how she returned to the states. She was obsessed with tennis balls and a dog trainer told us once, how they teach sniffer dogs with tennis balls! Both Ralph and Riley flew home to Wales with Sam 8 years ago, but have since sadly passed. We really do wish they could live forever, don't we?

Remy is an ex-breeding dog. Do you believe in fate ? Ralph was 16 and passed away during Covid. Sam was utterly heartbroken, the house was too quiet, Riley was so lonely, and despite the dog pandemic, where everyone was adopting dogs, we found Remy who turned up at the rescue on the same day Ralph passed away. Fate, or coincidence, our little Remy Roo has brought pure joy and our smiles back. She LOVES food and can be quite naughty in her pursuit of it! We have had Remy 4 years now and she is 7 π€
Sadly, Riley Passed away not long after Ralphy, and she was 13 years old. They were international travellers Ralph and Riley; Japan, America, the UK; and while collecting their frequent flyer miles, we had the best life together π
Ramsay joined our family 4 years ago from the same rescue as Remy - Many Tears in Llanelli. Our little Mamma Bear who has the kindest soul, always last in line for food, or a treat, and licks and cuddles her sisters and brother. She was rescued from Ireland and has her tattooed identification in her ear. She was just a breeding machine with a tattooed number to identify her. Really sad life our Ramsay has had. If you have a rescue dog, do you ever look at them, looking at you, and see the smile in their eyes? We do π Ramsay will be 10 this year.
Little Miss Shelby - at the time we were into the tv show Peaky Blinders, so couldn't resist - and there had been too many R's, so chose a name with an S - for Sam π Shelby had been returned to Many Tears because the person who had adopted her couldn't potty train her. Reading her story, we thought how cruel to adopt a dog, spend a mere 3 months trying to potty train and give up so quickly.... so off we went and adopted her. She has come so far in the past 3 years. Scared of her own shadow, terrified of any changes in the house, and is just the cutest little snuggle bunny. Shelby grows with confidence every day and after 3 years, she now has her little brother to bring her out of her shell. Shelby is 10 this year π€
Finally, onto Mr Finley. The beagle bro βοΈ Fin the Bin is 2 years old and joined our family 6 months ago. He is giving the Beagle Bond Girls a run for their money and Remy for Food - that's for sure! It is never a dull moment with Finley. Terrible 2 stage is certainly upon us and he is certainly bringing a new dynamic to the household! He was part of a large group of beagles taken in by Many Tears that would have been shot. After several months, he was still there with a handful of other beagles from the same group β¦ so off we went and welcomed Finley to the Pack π€
That is why we have a little beagle on our logo, for all of our little beagles β₯οΈ. You may see our little pack around the farm. They may bark a lot if they see you - as beagles do (!) but they are just excited, their tails wagging and cannot wait to greet you with open paws! πΎ
Happy National Pet Day!
