😍

We are extremely excited to be getting closer to sharing this wonderful project with you.

While the scaffolding is starting to come down, please note that we’re not quite finished yet.

We are working hard to maintain and restore the original part of the venue, while also working on a new creative and innovative cinema. This is so that Pontardawe Arts Centre can continue to develop, and be the wonderful and thriving creative space we all enjoy.

Our original cinema was unable to host new films regularly, but very soon we will be able to. Our live shows, theatre performances and classes are going extremely well in the main theatre which we’ve somehow worked carefully around. This has taken a lot of hard work and commitment, with some upheaval, so thank you to everyone who’s supported us through this. We’re very grateful to be working towards something for all of our audiences for generations to come.

To get our weekly PAC Update to hear about the fun to come, then please subscribe below as we get closer to sharing our exciting developments.

🤩🤩🤩🤩

Rydym yn hynod gyffrous i fod yn dod yn nes at rannu'r prosiect gwych hwn gyda chi.
Tra bod y sgaffaldiau yn dechrau dod i lawr, sylwch nad ydym wedi gorffen yn llwyr eto.

Rydym yn gweithio’n galed i gynnal ac adfer rhan wreiddiol y lleoliad, tra hefyd yn gweithio ar sinema greadigol ac arloesol newydd. Mae hyn er mwyn i Ganolfan Celfyddydau Pontardawe allu parhau i ddatblygu, a bod y gofod creadigol gwych a ffyniannus hwn yr ydym i gyd yn ei fwynhau. Mae cynaladwyedd y lleoliad yn bwysig iawn i ni.

Nid oedd ein sinema wreiddiol yn gallu cynnal ffilmiau newydd yn rheolaidd, ond yn fuan iawn byddwn yn gallu. Mae ein sioeau byw, ein perfformiadau theatr a’n dosbarthiadau yn mynd yn arbennig o dda yn y brif theatr ac rydyn ni rywsut wedi gweithio’n ofalus o’i chwmpas. Mae hyn wedi cymryd llawer o waith caled ac ymrwymiad. Bu llawer o gynnwrf felly diolch i bawb sydd wedi ein cefnogi drwy hyn.

Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i weithio tuag at rywbeth i’n holl gynulleidfaoedd am genedlaethau i ddod.

I gael ein Diweddariad PAC wythnosol i glywed am yr hwyl i ddod yna tanysgrifiwch isod 🤩

We are joining other Welsh Tourism businesses in standing up for Tourism In Wales please read below why Tourism businesses are
doing this to to try to save Tourism in Wales.

🚨 No Celebrations for St David’s Day – Welsh Tourism in Crisis 🚨

On March 1st, Welsh tourism businesses will mark St David’s Day not with celebrations, but with a powerful message to the Welsh Government (WG). Flags will be lowered to half-mast, and attractions will close their doors in protest against policies that are damaging our industry.

Last December, the Welsh Association of Visitor Attractions (WAVA) led a one-day strike, highlighting the impact of the WG’s anti-tourism stance. Now, the movement is growing. This time, we’re joined by North Wales Tourism and the Professional Association of Self Caterers in Wales, uniting to demand change before it’s too late.

🏴 Why are we protesting?

• Falling tourist numbers 📉
• The 182-day rule, which is crippling businesses 🏡
• The proposed tourism tax, which will affect Welsh residents just as much as visitors 💷

WAVA spokesperson Ashford Price warns:
👉 “60% of accommodation bookings in Wales are made by Welsh people for their own holidays—yet they’ll now be taxed for staying in their own country!”
👉 “Even babies in tents, caravans, or cottages will be taxed under these proposals!”

Jim Jones, CEO of North Wales Tourism, adds:
📢 “Despite countless attempts to engage with the Welsh Government, our concerns have been ignored. Many businesses are struggling to survive. That’s why we’re calling for flags to be lowered, symbolising the deep damage being done to one of Wales’ most vital industries.”

Alistair Handyside MBE, Executive Chair of PASC UK, stresses:
💬 “Hospitality businesses have faced a tsunami of taxes and regulations in recent years. Many are at breaking point, with mental health struggles widespread in the sector. An urgent review of these policies is needed now.”

⚠️ No Tourism = No Growth = No Future ⚠️

If you support Welsh tourism, join us on March 1st by lowering your flags and making your voice heard.

What a spectacular view of the Northern lights from the 14th tee last night 🌌

We think BDJ took his duvet and pillow on the course in order to capture this photograph 😆
