So the 2024 season has kicked off with a marvellous guest staying over Easter. He fired up the stove, enjoyed a home grown steak and even got some sunshine. The wildlife performed perfectly right out the front to top it off.

We let the grass in front of The Swallow grow long over the summer to add to the wildness, but today we cut it ready for seeding in some Yellow Rattle. I’m keen to get a few more hay meadow flowers established here so the rattle will start that process. And in case you are wondering, the bulls will eat the resulting hay.
