Draft Orders Public Exhibitions for the A83 Rest and Be Thankful Scheme.

Transport Scotland has been taking forward the design development for the A83 Rest and Be Thankful scheme which has been the site of a number of landslides.

The purpose of these public exhibitions is to provide local communities and road users the opportunity to view and comment on the draft Orders, Compulsory Purchase Orders and Environmental Impact Assessments for both the Medium-Term Solution (MTS) and the Long-Term Solution (LTS).

There are two virtual exhibition rooms available for viewing, one for the LTS and one for the MTS.

The Port Ban Tenants’ Association held a ceremony on Saturday 28 Sept to mark the installation of the memorial bench to Jonathan Sheldrick (former General Manager and Director of Port Ban) who passed away in March 2023. Jonathan’s wife, Nelleke, and two of their grandchildren, Brandon and Robyn, attended the ceremony and are pictured below with the bench, which is located beside the putting green looking out to the south-east over the front green and the park.

Our thanks go to the Tenants Association for honouring the memory of our beloved Jonathan in this way and to Anne Gallagher for the lovely picture.
