It's coming!

Our incredible illustration team Fountain Creative have been bringing the Shropshire Good Food Trail map to life once again this year and it is a beauty! And let me tell you this is no mean feat - With over 150 venues to cram into this year's map, it is almost three times as packed as the food trail was in 2023.

Our Maps are your passport to flavour and fun this summer. Map distribution begins this coming weekend starting at the Shrewsbury Food Festival. Show your map at dozens of locations and events for discounts and freebies during the Food Trail Dates (July 20th to August 31st).

The Shropshire Good Food Trail will also be running for 6 full weeks instead of only two like last year - so summer holiday planning with the family has just gotten a little bit more delicious.

Keep an eye on our social media channels for all the upcoming events, promotions, open days, tours, talks and demonstrations. Our website will be getting an overhaul with all the events and venues in the coming week.

Special thanks to Visit Telford for working in partnership with the Shropshire Good Food Trail, celebrating the best of local food and drink and the independent businesses that make our community thrive.

The Shropshire Good Food Partnership is grateful to Shropshire Hills National Landscape for supporting this as a part of a broader initiative for farmers in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, through the DEFRA Farming in Protected Landscape Programme.

🪱To celebrate International Compost Awareness Week - here's our simple guide to composting from compost expert Rod Weston 🪱

🌱 When composting you need roughly equal proportions of layered Greens and Browns.
🌱 Materials will decompose more quickly if cut into short lengths or shredded.
🌱 Long handled shears makes it easy to cut the material without getting backache.
🌱 Grass clippings are best mixed with Browns - for example mix in woodchip together with the grass.
🌱 Turn the material in the top layers of the bin monthly for the first few months to let in air and avoid compaction.
🌱 Alternatively knock the bin over and then refill it.
🌱 Or - a technique used by many composters - fill the bin and let it get on with it!
What are your top composting tips?
