If English gardens are your thing, there are two gems near Graziers Cottage that you can't miss this autumn!
Kiftsgate Court Garden sits on the edge of the North Cotswolds with stunning views of the Malvern Hills.
What makes this garden extra special? It’s been lovingly shaped by three generations of women, creating a soft, flowing landscape that feels natural and effortlessly elegant — completely different from its neighbour, Hidcote.
Since Kiftsgate is privately owned, it’s only open from April to September on selected days. But there’s still some time to visit!
Just a mile down the road, you’ll find Hidcote Manor Garden. This one’s all about structure and artistry, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. Designed by horticulturist Lawrence Johnston, Hidcote is famous for its rare plants and clever ‘garden rooms’ — each one a secret waiting to be discovered. Owned by the National Trust, it’s open most of the year.
Why not make a day of it? Both gardens are just a quick 20-minute drive from Graziers Cottage. It’s the perfect base for your Cotswolds getaway, with these stunning gardens practically on your doorstep. Check availability and book directly with us at: https://www.grazierscottage.com
September in the Cotswolds still feels like summer, but with a little more breathing room. Warm days, peaceful village walks, and the kind of quiet you rarely find during peak season.
It's the perfect time to visit Graziers Cottage if you're after a slower, more relaxed escape. We have availability from the 24th of September. Whether you're looking for a weekend away or a mid-week recharge, there's no better place to unwind.

Planning a trip to the Cotswolds? Your visit wouldn't be complete without experiencing a
quintessentially English afternoon tea — or at least a cream tea!
This charming tradition dates back to the early 1800s, introduced by Anna Maria Russel, the Duchess of Bedford, and Queen Victoria’s lady-in-waiting. She brought it to high society as a delightful snack between brunch and late dinner.
What makes the perfect afternoon tea? Think finger sandwiches with assorted fillings, a selection of dainty cakes, and scones with clotted cream and jam—all elegantly served on a 3-tier stand. Sandwiches on the bottom, scones with clotted cream and jam in the middle, and cakes on the top! And of course, it's all accompanied by a pot of tea, a jug of milk, and fine bone china cups.
Clotted cream and home-made jam should be in little porcelain bowls, and the tea must be loose leaf served with a strainer. Any reputable tea room will offer extra sandwiches and clotted cream on request.
Here are my Top-3 tea rooms in the Cotswolds:
1. The Bridge Tea Room, Bradford-on-Avon
2. Lucy’s Tea Room, Stow-on-the-Wold
3. The Slaughters Country Inn, Lower Slaughter – not a traditional tea room, but their afternoon tea is superb.
Do you have a favorite tea room in the Cotswolds? Share it in the comments, and we might just check it out!
