Tenby is definitely starting to feel very Christmassy! The trees are beautifully lit outside St Mary's Church, and the whole town has a very festive atmosphere.

Did you know you can whizz around Tenby on a Zipp bike? Such a fun way to get around town as these bikes come with a motor to get you up any hills! Plus you can just pick them up and drop them off at various sites, making them incredibly convenient.

Sometimes the twin bedrooms can get overlooked in holiday homes, with people just assuming it will be for children and doesn't really matter. But at High House, we like to treat everyone equally and that is why our twin room is just as lovely as the doubles.

As the days get shorter and shorter, the winter light in Tenby is pretty special. We love visiting at this time of year, when it's much less crowded and you can enjoy long peaceful walks through the town or on the beaches.

If you are able, it's always worth getting out on the water in Tenby - even if like these guys, you have to wrap up warm! Maybe just a brief trip along the coastline or over to look at Caldey Island, where if you are lucky you might spot some seals.

We never tire of the view across Tenby Harbour with the pretty coloured houses and both the old and new life boat stations in the distance.

It's a magical place to walk around at any time of the year, especially if the sun is shining.

We are so lucky in Tenby that there are lots of lovely spots to enjoy your coffee. One of our favourites is Cafe Vista, with its glorious views across North Beach - We think it's pretty clear how special it is! On a clear day, the view is simply stunning.

How often have you rented a holiday cottage in the winter and wished there was a lovely bath to soak in after a cold walk? Well, that's not a problem at High House. This lovely deep bath is just perfect to relax in and warm up.

With another bathroom and two shower rooms, there's plenty of choice for everyone!

This is South Beach, Tenby looking wonderful in the autumn sunshine. Now we are into October, dogs are once more allowed to enjoy it too. So if you are looking for a wonderful place to walk with your four legged friends, this is the place for you.
At High House, we allow two well behaved dogs to stay, so it really is perfect for all you dog lovers.

Of course, even if you don't have a dog, it's still pretty special!

Doesn't Tenby Harbour look magical at night? The town is so pretty with all its lights reflecting on the sea.

Make sure that if you come to visit, you do go for a walk around the town in the evening. There are plenty of wonderful places to stop for a drink or a bite to eat to make your walk even more enjoyable!

As autumn and winter slowly approach, the beaches around Tenby are still just as beautiful to walk around. Manorbier is one of the ones we always love visiting to watch the waves crash in.

ONE OF TENBY’S BEST KEPT SECRETS!!!

Harbwr Brewery and shop sits is the perfect spot to explore and enjoy a drink from the Harbwr Lane Bar. It doesn’t get better than a fresh pint of their beer just yards from where the brewers are already creating the next batch!

Just opposite is the brewery shop, where you can find all of their bottled beers, minikegs, gift packs, extensive clothing range and locally sourced spirits and gifts.

The forecast is great for the coming week - time to hit the beautiful beaches near Tenby. This is Barafundle, one of the prettiest around. Perfect for swimming, or for wonderful walks over the clifftops.

September can often be one of the loveliest times to visit Pembrokeshire when the school holidays are over and everywhere is a little less crowded. We do have some availability for next week if you fancy a short break - see link in bio

As we all know the sun doesn't shine all of the time in Wales - but actually sometimes the cloudier days are even more beautiful and dramatic. There are so many stunning walks - along the beaches, cliff tops, or some stunning Welsh scenery further inland.

For those of you with a dog, from 30th Sept, all of Tenby's beaches are open for your four legged friends to enjoy (only South Beach until then). 2 dogs are also welcome to stay with you at High House, so it really is the perfect base for all the walkers amongst you.

So, although summer is drawing to a close, Tenby is also the perfect place for an autumn/winter holiday. Doesn't this sitting room just make you want to snuggle up with a good book? As we start to look ahead to the autumn, Tenby is still the perfect place to visit, and High House is very definitely the perfect place to stay.

With 5 comfortable bedrooms (3 doubles, a twin, and a bunk room) and 3 bathrooms, plus a wet room downstairs, it really is the ideal base for a holiday in Tenby. You can even bring 2 well behaved dogs - we just ask that they stay downstairs.
