Doesn't this sitting room just make you want to snuggle up with a good book? As we start to look ahead to the autumn, Tenby is still the perfect place to visit, and High House is very definitely the perfect place to stay.

With 5 comfortable bedrooms (3 doubles, a twin, and a bunk room) and 3 bathrooms, plus a wet room downstairs, it really is the ideal base for a holiday in Tenby. You can even bring 2 well behaved dogs - we just ask that they stay downstairs.

Small but perfectly formed! So the outside area at High House isn't enormous, but the private courtyard is just perfect. There is plenty of room for you to sit outside and enjoy a meal, or a drink in the evening.

With a gas BBQ, garden furniture and an umbrella, all you need is a nice chilled glass of rose or a cold beer for the ideal alfresco supper!

We love Tenby North Beach at any time of the day, but particularly in the evening when it's a little more peaceful. The beach is easy to spot thanks to the iconic Goscar Rock the rears out of the sand in the centre of the strip.

The beach is one of the best-loved in the area and is tucked away between Harbour Beach and the elegant North Cliffs. As a result, the sands face east which means that it catches the sun all day and feels warm even when the winds are high.

The perfect spot for a swim and to catch those rays on a sunny day.

One of the joys of a holiday in Tenby are all the unbelievable walks in the area, with truly stunning scenery.

The Walk past Barafundle Bay is one of our favourites - the beach itself is stunning, but the views on the walk beyond are absolutely unbelievable. Of course the sunshine helps, but even on a grey day, you can't fail to be impressed.

We still have some availability for short breaks in August, including the Bank holiday weekend, so do get in touch if you feel like experiencing a bit of Tenby magic.

Tenby Harbour is right at the heart of our beautiful town. It's a wonderful place to sit and watch the boats coming and going. At low tide, Harbour beach is fantastic, especially for young children, as the compact size of this South Pembrokeshire bay means the little ones can stay in sight at all times. Bathing is a popular pastime here, so you can even take the children paddling and let them practise their backstroke.

From the top of the harbour, you can book a boat trip out to Caldey Islands or go on a sea safari around the spectacular coastline.

It is truly a magical spot.

It's not only the beaches that are special in Tenby. It also has a first class golf course which is regularly chosen to hold national championships. Originally a 9-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes in 1907.

In recent years the course has been extended from a par 69 to a par 72 layout, with several of the holes being reshaped, both to add length and to combat coastal erosion. Close to the medieval walls of the town of Tenby, the course offers superb sea views over the Carmarthen Bay to the nearby monastic island of Caldey.

Non-members are always welcome so if you are a keen golfer, why not book a holiday to Tenby soon, to try it out.

We never tire of the different views of St Catherine's Fort. Although originally built to protect the coast line from a possible invasion by the French, it was never actually used for this purpose.

In the early twentieth century, it became a private house, before being requisitioned during the 2nd WW. Its final incarnation was as a zoo in the sixties and seventies, but it has been uninhabited since then, with the interior preserved for charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes.

It is definitely worth a visit if you are in Tenby - just don't get caught out by the tides!

Tenby is the perfect spot if you have a dog as you can still take them on South Beach the whole year round (North Beach is off limits for our four legged friends between May and September).

Willsy and Nell love sitting out enjoying the view from The Imperial Hotel balcony, and there are plenty of other places where dogs are welcome around town.

Two well behaved dogs can stay at High House, so they can enjoy the holiday too!

When you picture Tenby, you probably think of long beaches in the daytime. But Tenby is equally lovely at night, and sometimes a walk on the beach after dark is just what is needed (obviously check the tides first!).

This lovely view looking back at the town from South Beach, really shows just what a beautiful place Tenby is, with plenty of stunning old buildings to admire, even after the sun has gone down.

If you are staying in Tenby, you must pay a visit to the stunning Bosherston Lily Ponds(Llynnoedd Bosherston). They are spring-fed, so lucid, but artificial – created in the 1780s by the Cawdors of Stackpole (Stagbwll), and testament to that era’s zest for water features.

Weirs were built across three adjacent valleys to slow the water’s flow to the sea, and the resultant ponds were stocked with lilies and fish. Come June, the water comes alive as the lilies flower. If you are very lucky you may even see otters.

There are several possible walks depending on how far you want to go, and all within a short drive of Tenby.

We always love wandering around Tenby as you come across lots of pretty views from different angles. The iconic coloured houses around the harbour are always a favourite, particularly when the sun is shining.

It's the little things that make a holiday home special. High House is not just comfy, and perfectly located, it's also full of beautiful things that make it feel like a lovely, stylish home rather than a bland rental.

Quirky artwork, lovely pieces of furniture, a kitchen with everything you could need. There are wet suits and body boards in the cellar, and a games room with an Xbox 360 and board games at the top of the house.

Why go abroad when we have beaches like this in the UK? Ok, so maybe the weather isn't playing ball at the moment, but it can't be long before the sun decides to put in a proper appearance.

Tenby has wonderful big beaches so even when it's busy, they are never too crowded. Stay at High House, and you are less than 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach, which makes it the perfect base for a Tenby holiday.

Look at this wonderful photo of St Mary's Street taken in the early 20th Century. Although the Car Exchange is no longer there, the view up the street does not appear to have changed much.

That is the wonderful thing about Tenby - the old mixed with the new. If you have never visited it really is a fantastic place and not just for its stunning beaches.

It can sometimes be difficult to find a holiday house where you can take your beloved dogs. But they are very much part of your family and we understand how important it is to have them with you to enjoy all the beautiful walks in and around Tenby.

That's why we welcome one or two (well-behaved!) dogs to stay at High House. While we do ask that they stay downstairs, they should be very happy and comfortable there.

There are dog friendly areas on South Beach the whole year round while North and Castle Beaches are dog free between May and September. There should be plenty for your four legged friends to enjoy.

If you have never visited Tenby, you don't know what you are missing! It really is an incredibly attractive town, with beautiful beaches and lots of stunning old houses. So even if it's not hot, there is always something to see, simply by wandering around the town.

High House is perfectly located to enjoy the beaches and the centre of town, so you really do get the best of both worlds. Add to that, its luxury interior, and everything is set for a happy stay.

There are so many stunning beaches near Tenby, but which is your favourite?

Barafundle is nothing short of spectacular and one you have to visit with its golden sands and crystal clear waters backed by sand dunes and pine trees. The bay has consistently been voted as one of the best beaches not only in Britain but also Europe, and if the sun is out you might mistake this beach for being located on a Caribbean island.

One for the surfers and Harry Potter enthusiasts, Freshwater West is a wide, sandy beach, backed by an extensive system of dunes. Its south-westerly facing direction makes it the most consistent surf spot in Wales.

Church Doors Cove is small amphitheatre-shaped beach which is home to a colossal door shaped archway which has been cut into the cliffs by the forces of the ocean. At mid to high tide the beach is very rocky. However as the tide drops away a small stretch if sheltered stretch of sand is revealed.

Next door to Church Doors Cove are the gorgeous golden sands of Skrinkle Haven Beach. The beach is backed by steep sided cliffs which give it a very Jurassic park-esqe feel to it. Because access to the beach is only available at low tide, it makes this secluded beach both unique and extra special.

It's hard to imagine but it won't be long now before we are reaching for our swimming costumes (ok, maybe wetsuits!), and grabbing a towel to head down to the beach.

With both the North and South beaches of Tenby in easy walking distance of High House, it makes life very simple. Not to mention the fact that as well as providing the beach towels, there is also a selection of wetsuits and boogie boards at your disposal.

Surely it's time to book that summer holiday?

Beautiful Tenby Harbour at night. We always love looking at the pretty coloured houses when we walk back to High House after an evening out at one of the many lovely pubs and restaurants in Tenby.
