Cedar Cottage is a great little getaway, whatever the weather!

We have a sunny south-facing front terrace with BBQ and chiminea, or a cosy living room with a woodburner and books if it's a little inclement!

There are a host of great walks around the Chippy area, plus Daylesford Organic, Didley Squat Farm (of Jeremy Clarkson fame - or its is Piglet Squat now? I'm not sure...) plus the fabulous. Soho Farmhouse (if you happen to be a member), all just a 5 minute drive away.....

We're rather quiet this April so I've dropped our prices and we'd love you to come and stay. 😍🥰

Its generally for couples as there is one king-size bed, but we do have a couch bed suitable for one person in the study if you'd rather bring a friend or squeeze in a third person. Just let us know beforehand, so we can set it up.

We were up in the Cotswolds enjoying some Christmas vibes in Tetbury this week. 🎄😄
We popped in to our lovely local gastropub; 🍻 The Royal Oak, 🍻which we can see from our living room window at The Retreat. 🌳
Our old friend and restauranteur Jamie, is currently working there and there is also a new chef. We enjoyed a delicious brunch by the bar and I’m very excited to go and have dinner there when next in Tetbury.

There are some pretty big shows happening at Westonbirt National Arboretum this weekend and we've got the weather! Rag'n'Bone Man tonight, Keane on Friday, Madness on Saturday and Texas on Sunday. There are still some tickets for some of these shows. It's a glorious setting for an outdoor concert and a gets a big recommendation from me. *Cheese Rolling Festival - 5th June*
The Cotswolds hosts a handful of quirky English traditional events and the world-famous Cheese Rolling competition at Coopers Hill near Brockworth is one of the craziest.

This year the festival is on Sunday 5th June and is a day of fun and hilarity. Brave competitors hoping to chase the cheese can head to the top of Cooper’s Hill from 12pm to take part in the event – with downhill races for men and women and one uphill race for children on the day.

Our beautiful Retreat in Tetbury is just over half an hour drive away from Coopers Hill.

I have had some really lovely reviews, but I wanted to share this one from a guest that stayed last week as it really made my day:

"A stunning property in an ideal location for Tetbury. The pictures really don't do this flat justice. Firstly, its significantly bigger than you will be expecting. The decoration? It's beautiful. Think high-end hotel combined with rustic features. The attention to detail is outstanding; bluetooth speakers, USB sockets, milk-frother (I suspect it has a more official name than that!), complimentary tea/coffee, cafetiere, to name but a few. And the cleanliness! Oh my goodness! It's like everything is brand new. Even the switches and finishes are polished. I think I'm fairly OCD when it comes to keeping things clean - we all hate dusting but it is a necessary evil, right? - but I challenge you to find a surface that is dusty or dirty, or even a cushion that is out of place. It's a gorgeous flat right in the heart of Tetbury. You're provided with comprehensive information on places to eat and go. The arboretum nearby is literally 10-mins drive and stunning, by the way. Parking is available on the road outside and was never an issue. The flat is titled "The Retreat" and the name is so well suited. It's a lovely escape, complimented with a sun-drenched rear garden, giving you total serenity. Premium accommodation; you won't find better."

Badminton Horse Trials are on now.
A world famous eventing competition and a must-see for all lovers of equine sport.
Only a 10 minute drive from The Retreat in Tetbury, there are still tickets available for tomorrow (Friday) for dressage and Sunday, the final day, where competitors will be show-jumping.

The Badminton Estate owned by the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort, also opens its gardens to the public from 24th April to 4th September and I recommend spending a lazy afternoon strolling around enjoying the scenery. Get into the Christmas spirit at our beautiful hideaway in the Cotswolds. Idyllic villages with cosy pubs perfect for a mulled wine in front of the fire. Crisp winter walks in gorgeous scenery, and some lovely local markets where you can pick up a gift or two...
Catch the Christmas crafts fair on 4th and 5th December at The Tetbury Goods Shed selling a host of locally designed and made gifts. Enjoy the Christmas farmers market under the Market House on 3rd December when the Tetbury Christmas lights are officially switched on. Or wander through the illuminated ‘Enchanted Christmas trail’ at Westonbirt Arboretum from Friday 26th November until 31st December.
