We’re pleased to announce we’ve expanded our second hand book offer, and launched our teeny tiny ‘Ginnel Gallery’!

Caretaker Paul had his work cut out this week - our corridor through to Sutton Bank Bikes is fully refurbished. It trebles our popular second hand book space, and gives us a new location to showcase local artists. Watch this space!

Looking for a fun and creative way to learn about our dark skies? Join our cosmic crafting workshop during our 10th Dark Skies Festival.

Kids will get the chance to create their own planet with wool felting – a hands-on, ancient craft that’s as fun as it is educational at Sutton Bank or Danby Lodge National Park Centre.

Cosmic crafting awaits! 🌠

This February, join us for an out-of-this-world crafting adventure during our 10th Dark Skies Festival. Kids aged 6+ will learn the ancient art of wool felting and create their very own planet to celebrate our dark skies.

It’s hands-on, fun, and educational – perfect for crafters who are fascinated by space.

When? 15 and 23 February at Sutton Bank, 28 February at Danby Lodge, 11am-2pm
Cost: £3 per child

UPDATE: the National Park Centre is open, but conditions are challenging so please take care on the roads. Park Life Café Sutton Bank and Sutton Bank Bikes may not be open as things stand. Our shopping day will go ahead tomorrow as planned - unfortunately our stallholders have not been able to make it today. We love the snow…but our teams are struggling to reach Sutton Bank today for our Christmas Weekend! We’re not sure if we’ll be able to go ahead today - please take care if you are heading out.
