This includes a road closure from the top of Sutton Bank to Sutton-Under-Whitestonecliffe.

As part of the 10th anniversary of the Dark Skies Festival, we're delighted to welcome local artist Jane Furniss as our first exhibitor in our new 'Ginnel Gallery'!

Jane's technique blends traditional painting with digital, and this series celebrates some of the North York Moors iconic landmarks under dark skies.

All are available to purchase as framed and unframed prints - we think they're stunning! Head into the Centre next time you're here to check them out :)

There will be a temporary diversion in place on the Gravel cross loop while tree felling work is undertaken, the second loop will be closed with a signed diversion in place. This is likely to be for a couple of weeks.

Sutton Bank Bikes will be open as usual over the weekend for all your cycling needs, including hire, demos and any supplies.

Our power is back on, and The National Park Centre and Sutton Bank Bikes will be open as usual today. We’re not sure if our cafe operator will be opening at this stage though. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE - unfortunately we still have no power, and the cafe, Sutton Bank Bikes and the National Park Centre will likely remain closed for the remainder of the day.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - we are still without power this morning. Unfortunately, the National Park Centre, Cafe and Sutton Bank Bikes will be closed until it is restored. This also affects our site toilets as our water reaches the site via a pump.

Sorry for the inconvenience this will cause - we will post an update should power be restored.

We’re pleased to announce we’ve expanded our second hand book offer, and launched our teeny tiny ‘Ginnel Gallery’!

Caretaker Paul had his work cut out this week - our corridor through to Sutton Bank Bikes is fully refurbished. It trebles our popular second hand book space, and gives us a new location to showcase local artists. Watch this space!

The Caff at Sutton Bank reopens tomorrow morning. Pop in to enjoy their delicious menu and great coffee before heading out to admire the Finest view in England!

We bid a fond farewell to our 19th Century bike, the 'Velocipede' today! Many thanks to Ryedale Folk Museum for the 13 year loan...we resisted all temptation to have a go on it :)

Looking for a fun and creative way to learn about our dark skies? Join our cosmic crafting workshop during our 10th Dark Skies Festival.

Kids will get the chance to create their own planet with wool felting – a hands-on, ancient craft that’s as fun as it is educational at Sutton Bank or Danby Lodge National Park Centre.

Hi again folks - just a repeat of yesterday’s message that we have very limited parking available due to ice and snow cover. It was another hard frost last night, so please do consider alternative destinations if you are heading out today.

Please be aware that the cafe will be open today but with a limited offer and in take-out containers only. You can still sit inside.

The cafe will then be closed until Saturday 18 January.
