UNZ6031 left us today to head to her new home in Teesside after almost 10 years of service.

We always feel a little sad when a bus leaves the fleet, this little machine has served us so well over the years. She was the first to venture out into our cycle business, moved Boris Johnson in the Brexit Campaign, transported guests in all the Welcome to Yorkshire events of the Tour open evenings, assisted with the Herriot Centenary Celebrations and much more.

Thanks for you service old girl and we hope you look after your new operator as well as you did us. 🥰

Well it’s almost the end of 2023 and we have closed the doors for Christmas and New Year here at Sherwoods. We will reopen on 3rd January 2024 🎉

We would like to thank our amazing team for all they do, it’s been a long uphill journey from the damaging effects that the pandemic had on our business and we are very lucky to still be here as we were close to closing the doors in those darker times.

With the support of our loyal customers, staff and local businesses we have kept going and managed to update some of the fleet this season, so again thank you so much!

We wish you all have a wonderful Christmas with Family and Friends, let’s also take time to reflect on those we have lost this year too…they will never be forgotten and are the brightest stars in the sky 💕

❗️York Parking Required ❗️

Yard space needed to park our Day Tour buses close to or in York needed for the 2024 season.

We have been at Clifton Moor for the last few Years and it’s been perfect but the site is getting redeveloped in January so we are in need of something else.

Space for a 16 seat vehicle with 24 hour access is needed as a minimum but we would look to have additional vehicles there in the peak season.

Would consider a small unit or secure enclosed yard.

We will need this space from 1st March 2024 but will take it sooner to secure.

We run a variety of different vehicles specialising in Group Cycle Transport and Day Tours of Yorkshire.

Ideally a PSV licence for 16 seat minibuses would be a great start but we are happy to provide full training to obtain this licence for the right people!

We love banter and laughs and a friendly face is a must to fit in with our team 😁

It’s not always plain sailing in the land of buses and this is what we have been up to in the workshop…a poorly Mercedes Sprinter 😢

Our old faithful machine developed a nasty rattle from the timing chain area and upon inspection we found that one of the chain guides had completely disintegrated causing the chain to run very slack and run on the metal guide pins.

We were lucky to catch this before the chain snapped and destroyed the engine 🙏🏻🥵

So the engine was removed, stripped and we have replaced the chain, guides and tensioner and it’s now ready to refit!
