It’s lovely working with European oak ,the grain work is amazing.
Here we have two sets of double doors complete with casing frames and two windows.
Made with traditional Mortice and tenon joints for strength, these are internal doors and were 45mm thick.

I love a challenge, so I was delighted to be asked to create a new 'porch' door for this arched entrance. I had to create arched jigs in order to form all the different parts of the door and frame and the different shapes of each, including a fine glass bead, made from 7 pieces of wood.

To allow the door to open in, and not collide with an internal step, a narrow door was required. So an oversized frame was needed to house this. I added a matching groove detail to break-up this larger frame and stop it looking flat, big and strange.

I think the finished product is stunning. Wow!
