Jamie Stone MP petitioned the Government about our astronomical electricity bills and secured an emergency debate with the Energy Minister who had to listen to many MPโs lobby him for help and assistance for their very concerned constituents. Watch a clip from Jamie's opening remarks ๐ฅ
Andrew was lucky to be in London at the time and went to parliament to witness the debate. After the debate he said โ it is scary how many are affected by the impending fuel poverty epidemic, all the solutions put forward by all partyโs at the debate to address fuel poverty were โdismissedโ by Government โ ranging from a cut in the VAT on energy, Windfall Tax which would cut the huge profits these multi billion pound companyโs that we are customers of and simple winter fuel allowances for the elderly and low income familyโs. we thank MP Stone for securing the debate and for getting a private appointment with the Energy Minister to discuss the crisis including our 70% price hike and the 6 figure sum JGC are having to find each year to cover their increaseโ. ๐ฒ

Andrew made a recent appearance on the STV News regarding our current energy bill increase.๐ฒ
We are delighted that the Chambers of Commerce are pushing for this situation to be addressed.
Jamie Stone had planned a question at Prime Minister's Question Time yesterday but he was timed out as it was a busy PMQ, following this he has emailed Boris Johnson directly for action on this as the 70% increase in energy cost is shocking and is putting us and other small businesses under extreme pressure.
We really hope that The Government manage to cap this as it is totally unsustainable. ๐คฏ๐
