Here on the Turus Mara Croft we have been whittling down a short list of 20 with some Mull Young Team assistance - thanks Liam Munro! With difficulty (sorry to those that didn't make the cut - standards were very high!) we are now handing over to a photographer pal to choose a winner and 4 runners up!

Thanks everyone for adding a bit of colour to our long winter nights.

Treshnish Isles Puffins. Fratercula Arctica spend the winter months out on the open ocean before returning to the burrows of Lunga, the Harp Rock and other Treshnish Isles in April time. 2024 was a bumper year for puffins on the Treshnish Isles although there is no cause for complacency given a complex range of potential wider issues meaning puffins are a red list species for conservation in the UK.
