Old Pine Hut

After ten brilliant seasons (although maybe not 2020 so much!) we have reluctantly taken the decision that the time has come to retire the Old Pine Hut - the Old Pine Yurt as was.

Over the years we have hosted hundreds of people from pretty much all corners of the world and from all walks of life; we have met authors, historians, architects, doctors, accountants, lawyers, restorers of historic buildings, surgeons, carpenters, joiners, airline pilots, engineers, lecturers, survivalists, military personnel, tweed manufacturers, landscape gardeners, teachers, musicians (some famous), wedding celebrants, cyclists, bikers, walkers, motorhomers, policemen and policewomen, the manager of a peanut butter factory, and many others who didn't disclose their occupations - but it was our pleasure to meet you all.

As we sit back now and put our feet up, we thank you, each and every one.

And it's goodnight from us, with our very best wishes to you all.

Such a beautiful evening at the Old Pine Hut; even Daisy dog was content to sit for ages admiring the view. No wonder that Sir Henry Alexander described the A'an valley as 'perhaps the most perfect glen in Scotland'.

He went on to say that 'the hills are friendly rather than fearsome, where groves of silver birches break and soften the valley side, where the alder dips its branches in the singing water, and where the oyster-catcher sweeps and cries above the shingle.'

We couldn't agree more.

We're very sad to announce that the Old Pine Yurt has been retired 😞 - but we're absolutely delighted to let you know that the Old Pine Hut is now up and running 😃

Fully lined, insulated, electrified, and containing a curtained-off double bedroom, the Hut is now ready to welcome first-time and returning guests to a smart, spacious, cosy and comfortable interior.

Hands-on glampers will be pleased to know that the kitchen, toilet and Donald's DIY shower are unchanged!

Technology currently has us thoroughly baffled but a new website is struggling through the pipeline - it just seems to be stuck in a bend at the moment; until such time as we have a digital revelation, anyone who wishes to get in touch can contact us at [email protected].

It's been a long haul, so we're going to put our feet up tonight - and perhaps celebrate the launch with a wee dram (or two); you'd be very welcome to join us in spirit! 🥃
