This is one of our favourite corners of the South West Coast path. The easiest way to get here is to visit the National Trust’s Coleton Fishacre and walk through the beautiful gardens to a valley of tree ferns. Right at the bottom of the hill is a little gate. Walk through it and then follow the path up the hill to the left for this breathtaking view.

Birdsong and bluebell woods are just a short walk away from Blue Bayou. Take the path inland to Cockington Village and follow the stream which runs through a lush wooded valley.

If you are planning to stay at Blue Bayou, then a trip on the one hour rib safari with Torquay Watersports is worth every penny. You have the boat all to yourself and you can explore Torbay’s fabulous coastline with its sandy bays and rocky coves. You are more likely to see dolphins when the sea is flat and clear, but the coastline is so beautiful you will have an amazing time regardless. Wrap up warm! These boats are fast! The marina is just a 20 minute walk from Blue Bayou. Finish off your outing with brunch and coffee at Wesup paddleboard cafe.
