We've recently been exploring our extraordinary Geopark with some intrepid clients who have been adventuring eith us on our Geopark, Cave and Wildlife tour.

We have 2 spaces available for our Intro to Sea Kayaking course this Sunday. 12th May 1030 - 1630.
Weather is looking perfect for anyone wanting to learn to use a Sit-In Sea Kayak and go further with less effort and is pitched at complete beginners.
You will learn how to launch, land and load your Sea Kayak, gain water confidence in up to force 3 conditions, how to control your kayak and maneuver in tight spaces and how to plan a journey safely looking at the weather, tidal planning and using your equipment efficiently. For those interested we will also finish on capsize recovery.
We will launch from Oddicombe and explore the headland of Hopes Nose and paddle around Orestone Island.

Looking lovely out there now the rain has stopped.
Well the rains gone and its turned out nice. Even the Babbacombe Cliff Railway is operating.
Suddenly it feels like summer ☀️
Stunning trip out on the water today, 2 seals hung out with us through the caves. We saw 2 Perigrine Falcons displaying there air acrobatics and a seal sunning himself way after low water trying to get the most out of the lovely sunshine.

We love Grey seals, and whilst these are both ' Grey Seals' neither look like they are! One is a handsome juvenile Grey Male seal, in his splendid coat of black, showing off his life long identifying markings, which are his fingerprint for life. The other seal, again a 'Grey' is going through his annual moult. It means his previous darker fur coat is dying off, going beige, making him unrecognisable for the time being, and meaning he needs time to rest and scratch and itch, whilst his new fur pattern comes through.
This period of his life is similar to a sunburn frustration, your skin itches, yet you know you shouldn't, your skin is more sensitive, so you feel the cold, you get tetchy, so just want to be left alone. Thankfully this seal has buddied up with a friend who's been through the same thing, so hopefully sharing words of wisdom!
We only have a couple of places available on our 9 - 11 year old water sports academy on the 9th of June to 21st July.
We also have space on our May Half Term for 11 - 16 year old Academy.

Such a great trip. Kieran was a wonderful host/instructor making sure we were all having fun while being safe on the water. Really in-depth knowledge of the local area and landscape. We paddled out to a nearby beach, with Kieran giving us info on wildlife and landscape en route. We stopped for a rest and some delicious toasted marshmallows, then went on our way again, passing some dolphins!

I wasn't keen to share my images of the seal pups when I took this. As I didn't want to create too much of a seen at the pupping beach. But I feel they are now big enough to look after themselves so I will be sharing some lovely pics and vids of the pups over the coming weeks. September is always a very special time of year on the water for us.
