If you’re looking to blow away the festive cobwebs, you’ll find a pick of walks in and around Totnes on our website. A short diversion off the walk between Totnes and Ashprington takes you right through the towering reeds towards the river. The path can be muddy as it floods at high tides, but is beautifully tranquil and a haven for wildlife.

Are you looking for something family fun in the holidays? Totnes Rare Breeds Farm will be open 26 December until 1 January as well as 3-5 January

We are thrilled to announce that Totnes Rare Breeds Farm will be open from 26th December to 1st January during the South Devon Railway’s festive steam services, and again from 3rd to 5th January for their Winter Steam Gala! 🚂✨

Our farm and café will be open between 1000 and 1500 each day, and we’ll be serving a variety of hot and cold drinks and delicious food. 🍰☕️

Come and meet our friendly animals, enjoy the beautiful countryside, and watch the steam trains go by. It’s the perfect way to spend your holiday season and a great stop to make during your journey on the South Devon Railway.

We can’t wait to see you there! 🐾❤️

Whatever the autumn weather is throwing at us, the accessible to all path alongside the River Dart at Longmarsh, Totnes is the perfect place to take a stroll. Dog and wheel friendly, start at The Plains at the bottom end of Totnes, cross over the bridge to Steamer Quay and it's a flat, measured mile to get to the end. When you're back in the town, take your pick from our choice of cafes for a well deserved coffee and cake.

Don't miss Totnes Christmas Market and Late Night Shopping on Tuesdays 3, 10 and 17 December 3pm-9pm. Eat, drink and be merry with two dedicated food courtyards (behind the Civic Hall and at The Mansion) as well as in our brilliant Totnes restaurants and cafes. We'll have lots of live street entertainment throughout the town, ranging from festive choirs and folk music to spectacular hula hooping and DJs all helping to create a party atmosphere. And there's over 70 market stalls + our brilliant independent shops are staying open to make your Christmas shopping a dream

Getting here: There's a free park and ride from Follaton House, Plymouth Road with a stop to pick up from the train station too. Buses stop near the 7Stars at the bottom of the town, just steps from the fun. And parking in South Hams District Council car parks is free after 6pm
