Porthtowan Beach,
2.3 miles SW of St Agnes / Sleeps 8
Book or Reserve
Perfectly positioned on the clifftop overlooking Porthtowan, Sun View offers a wonderful backdrop for families and friends wanting to unwind and discover this stunning part of north Cornwall.
Four double bedrooms, a shower-room and family bathroom offer comfortable accommodation for up to eight guests with a cosy living-room, light-filled sun-room and contemporary kitchen/dining space. Walk through the front door, and you are straight into a warm and welcoming hallway. On this floor you have two double bedrooms, (one with 'zip and link' beds which can be made up as a double or twin beds) and a shower-room.
The brand new kitchen is very well-equipped with a dishwasher, a microwave and a large fridge and freezer. This leads through into an open plan dining and sitting area with a lovely wood-burner, perfect to snuggle up in front of after a day on the beach. Step out of the sitting-area and into the sunny and contemporary sun-room. This laidback room oozes tranquility, and is the ideal spot to catch up with family and friends and take in the amazing sea views.
These same sea views are mirrored on the first floor, where you'll find a gorgeous family bathroom, complete with a bath to soak away the sand in, the master bedroom and a further double bedroom. The third bedroom also has 'zip and link' beds, with rural views through one window and sea views through another. In the fourth bedroom, you have a double bed, sea views and a snug-area. This room is just the ticket for the kids to retire to as it also has a TV and large bean bag chair. Both double bedrooms on this floor have sloping ceilings and Velux windows, so children must be super careful, as the windows do open wide.
The rear tiered garden offers not one but two seating-areas. Decide upon the more formal top deck complete with table and eight chairs, oh and not forgetting those sea views. Or perhaps opt for the more informal seating-area, we think this spot is just perfect for morning coffee and day trip planning.
The popular beach of Porthtowan is closer than you first think. Through a tiny wooden gate at the bottom of the garden there is a little path, which if you follow it will take you right down to the family-friendly sandy beach. After a busy day on this gorgeous beach, why not head to the beachside Blue Bar, a great spot to enjoy an indulgent hot chocolate or chilled glass of wine. There is also a wonderful beach cafe selling delicious home-cooked food, a great little surf shop that can kit you out with boards, wetsuits and lessons, and miles of sandy beach to walk along at low tide โ perfect if you're bringing your four-legged friend.
A short drive away, along the coastal road, is St Agnes, a vibrant and very colourful coastal village with a fantastic butcher, local craft shops brimming with temptation and lots of yummy eating places. There are plenty more great beaches within seven miles, most patrolled by lifeguards throughout the holiday season and many with cafes and bars right on the beach.
