MY MISTAKE
Because we L I V E in a holiday destination, as well as H E L P all of our guests, to curate their perfect stay …
I guess I always thought that a GREAT DAY OUT had to be organised to the nth degree and packed to the rafters with ALL the activities
How wrong I was
I also used to work in event planning and and naturally am quite a control freak (these could also be factors 😂)
I’ve now come to realise that Cornwall, more than anywhere else, gives you the opportunity to find spontaneous moments, often at the most unexpected times
The weather can also be quite unpredictable - so it’s not unheard of to find a surprising sunset, or be treated to a lovely evening, of blue skies and full sun, even after a greyer day
You just have to be prepared to go for it and to SAY YES when those moments of opportunity arise
THIS was a MOMENT just a few days ago. I was heading back from an afternoon at a bike track (@trackportreath ) with George and a mate and Max (the big one) was at football training in Falmouth
We clocked it was high tide, so just decided, (at literally a moments notice) to grab wetsuits and towels, pick up Max en route and head on down to Porthleven for an hour of quay jumping off the harbour wall
We got the end of the days sun, the boys had an EPIC time and then we decided to grab some impromptu (completely unbooked) dinner at @theharbourinnporthleven
It was fabulous. We packed no real STUFF and we didn’t really have a PLAN
Lesson learned - live more SPONTANEOUSLY and say YES OFTEN
