As a family we would like to say a huge thank you to all our fabulous customers and supporters.

Over the last two weeks we have sold more beef than ever, ever, ever before.

Every last scrap of 4 whole bodies of beef have been sold. Including all the meat, bones and offal.

To be able to literally sell every piece of our beautiful homebred cattle from nose to tail really makes us super thankful.

It makes us beyond proud to see so many people enjoying our pastured beef both locally and across the UK 🇬🇧 To think of our beef being eaten as far north as Glasgow and Edinburgh, as far East as Ipswich and as far South East as Canterbury just blows us away. Plus our brilliant Welsh customers! Is frankly quite bonkers and beyond anything we could have ever imagined.

We couldn’t do it without our fabulous supporters who spread the word about our very small but mighty family farm.

Celebrating a clear TB test today!!

TB testing is always a nervous time for us as each animal is individually tested for the disease.

Each animal has two injections in their neck and their skin fold depth is measured. Then 3 days later the vet returns, if any lumps are seen at the injection site the animals skin fold is measured again. If the skin fold measures outside the ranges the animal is deemed a ‘reactor’ and positive for TB.

Any animals that test positive are sadly sent straight to slaughter. The vet will attached the ‘green tag of doom’ in their ear which makes them identifiable and their details are sent to DEFRA who arrange the transport to slaughter which happens in the following days.

The carcasses are then inspected for TB. But did you know that the test results are unreliable?

On our last test we had two positive ‘reactors’ but once slaughtered and inspected it was found they were totally clear of TB. The waste is just totally heartbreaking 💔

But this time we can breathe a sigh of relief as everyone was clear and in fact very well behaved!!
