If any guests, past or future, would like to support this, please feel free to follow the link…no one ever knows when it might be needed…these things save lives but aren’t cheap to maintain…. especially in the salty sea air of beautiful Porthtowan. They are funded by the community for the community….every little will help. Cornwall Coastal Holidays will be making a donation on behalf of our guests too, as we recognise the importance of having this defibrillator close to the beach for our guests….but hopefully it will be never be required.

Our Porthtowan SLSC defibrillator needs a new cabinet and battery. This is around £800. If you can help, even a £1 would be great.

One of our most asked questions is ‘Why don’t you fly to more destinations?’... And it is a great question, with a lot that goes into the answer:

⏳ Long-term strategy - Airlines start prepping their schedules around 15 months in advance. So, decisions today might only take off later on… excuse the pun 😉
🔎 Market research - We survey passenger needs to guide our discussions with airlines, ensuring we're pushing for routes you'll actually use!
💪 Fleet - Does the airline have enough planes and crew to support the route? This can be a major factor.
🏠 Slots - Even if the demand is there, the airline must find a slot in their schedule and at the destination airport.
💰 Profitability - the route needs to be sustainable for the airline. If it doesn't turn a profit, they won't keep it.
🏅 Competitors - We see people travelling to Exeter or Bristol Airport if they can get a cheaper fare… not factoring in parking and petrol 👀 Airlines take this into account when deciding whether to add a new route here at CAN.

Beach walks in Cornwall are the best 👌
This walk from Porthtowan to Chapel Porth on a big low tide is lovely, you can just see Wheal Coates Tin Mine in the distance 📸

Always great to receive feedback like this 🥰.

Absolutely fantastic location as virtually on Porthtowan beach, with everything (convenience shop, cafe, bar, pub, fish & chips, and kids play park etc) all within a few hundred meters.
The open plan living space has floor to ceiling patio windows onto the large balcony with table and chairs, and directly overlooks the sea so plenty of people and surfer watching opportunities!
Always spotlessly clean, useful efficient heaters (one stay was off season) loads of hot water, comfy beds, and there is a parking permit for a space just a short walk away.
Looking to book for the third time in 2025, as are family members who love it as much as I do.
