♻️ 🌎 BEACH CLEANING 🌎 ♻️

It may not seem like much, but if every single one of us did our best to 1. Not drop litter and 2. Pick it up, we would be taking some big leaps to start looking after our planet and doing our bit.

We often combine our beach walks with a beach clean. Here is an image of a trip to one of our local beaches, Chapel Porth, to clear up some of the plastic and pieces of rope that were washing up on our shoreline, along with a few pieces of rubbish further up the beach. On this particular trip we collected just under a kilo of plastic.

It may not seem like a lot, but it was a great activity to do with the kids and give them a better understanding of why it is important.

Coming to stay? We have some grabbers you can use if you want to combine your winter beach walks with a beach clean ♻️

It was so lovely to see them showcasing St Agnes. It’s such a beautiful village rich in history. If you want to see our local area, give it a watch!

🌟 Thank You for Your Support in 2024! 🌟

As we step into our fifth year at Penhallow Farm, we're excited to continue building on the lessons and experiences from each season. There’s always work to be done with a rental property, both visible tasks like cosmetic updates and behind-the-scenes efforts like marketing, servicing and maintenance, adhering to regulations, conducting risk assessments, and refining our business strategy.

Here's a glimpse of our current projects:

🛏️ Renovating Bedroom 3
💻 Undertaking a digital marketing course
🌱 Feeding & seeding the lawn, and planting onion sets for you to have something to pick next year

And let's not forget finishing off our own home, which is SO close to being complete!

We're pleased to announce that 2025 is already looking promising with several bookings in the diary. For those interested, here are the available dates in our 2025 Summer calendar:

📅 July: 1st - 18th
📅 August: 1st - 24th, 31st
📅 September: 1st - 11th, 14th - 20th

These dates are now open for booking on Airbnb. We couldn't have made it this far without your support, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Penhallow Farm in 2025!

Thank you for being a part of our journey. 💚

CORNWALL SUMMER SEASON 2024

This was our fourth summer season with the holiday let, but due to the works on the house, we chose to only accept repeat guests who already knew the area and understood there could be a little noise!

Overall, Cornwall has felt quieter. This could be due to a variety of reasons like the unpredictable weather, the cost of accommodation…I can understand why people would choose to go abroad instead.

However, in my opinion, I find it hard to top the beaches in Cornwall and if you are like me, when I go abroad, I don’t tend to use them much as they are ‘too hot’!

Also, i’ve been really impressed with the eateries available this year. The standard of food in Cornwall is really up there.

If you are thinking of coming down in 2025, I would always say to have a rough plan of what you want to do to make the most of every second. Some things will need to be booked in advance. Pack everything from your bikini to your wellies, a pack of cards gave us the funniest of moments and a sketch pad, to just take a moment of calm and take it all in.

Bookings are open on Airbnb and a couple of weeks have gone already!

If you want to feel the true essence of Cornwall, we welcome you all in 2025 to come spend some time with us 😍

To all our guests this year, it’s been amazing, and thank you for putting up with the view of the scaffolding!

This made me feel a little emotional!

This is all we want. People to fall in love with Cornwall. There is so much to see and do on rainy days as well as sunny. Be adventurous and look beyond all the tourist hotspots. Four years of being back home, I’m still blown away by some of the stunning locations!

Our bookings are now open from September. A bit more building work going on in September and possibly October outside, but apart from that and the gorgeous roaming Guinea fowl, we are pretty quiet here! 😂

Thanks LM for the glorious review!

Cornwall, you are looking DEVINE!

Photo 1: Cornish coastal path on the north side, just north of the Perranporth airfield

Photo 2: the other side of Perranporth beach, the main side was heaving!

Photo 3: final destination. Holywell Beach, where the best beach bar gifted me with a strawberry and cucumber cooler for running all the way to visit! Thanks Liv!

It’s well known that in Cornwall it gets a tad busier in these summer weeks.

I’ve never been a fan of busy spots, so there are areas I sacrifice visiting for a few weeks, but that’s ok, I get to spend time in these places whenever I like the rest of the year 😂.

It can be tempting to hunker down (maybe not so much this year 😜), but there are plenty of places to visit that are pretty much off the radar and are so so beautiful, and show the true essence of this beautiful county.

St Agnes beacon was looking particularly special on my run today, all the purple!

Have you got any hidden gems that you don’t mind sharing with a small number of Penhallow followers? ☺️

If you could pick one Cornish Beach to visit this summer, which one would you pick and why?

I find this such a tricky question, as there are so many amazing ones to choose from!

But if you had just one…

I do have a soft spot for Holywell….

As our first guests come and go, yes, we are still very much a building site!

But in no way did it dampen their spirits! Not even that rain on Monday! 😂

However, after 10 months of graft from our builders and tradespeople, I can finally say, I can see light at the end of that tunnel.

Next guests arrive tomorrow and it looks like summer will be making an appearance! Finally!

This project has not been easy, but I can’t think of a better place to be to take it on 😍

Cornwall, you do have a way of making things feel better ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for sharing Craig!
