Welcome to Gwynfa Bach (Little Paradise) Holiday Cottage, a 2-bed former slate miners' cottage, which has been transformed into the 21C with all the
modern amenities and home comforts you would expect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Accommodation comprises: 2nd floor master bedroom with double bed, 1st floor bedroom with full-size bunk beds and single bed, bathroom with double shower and freestanding bath, large kitchen/diner, lounge with wood burner, smart TV and superfast broadband.
**********************************************
Gwynfa Bach Holiday Cottage is situated at the southern end of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery in Wales, with its' mountains, waterfalls and the sweeping sandy beaches of the Cambrian Coast. The cottage was originally a 19C slate miners' cottage built by the Aberdovey Slate Mining Company in 1864. The village of Abergynolwyn is steeped in slate mining history along with the famous Talyllyn Railway and was recently given UNESCO World Heritage status. We renovated the cottage in 2015 to bring it into the 21C, whilst retaining many of its charming original features. It is modern, light and airy, with high ceilings and has all the modern amenities and home comforts you would expect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We provide linen, towels and household essentials such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and hand wash to get you started, but please bring your own beach and pet towels. There is a large family-sized kitchen with plenty of dining space for everyone and it is fully equipped with a full-sized dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and a child-friendly safety hob and electric oven. There is a door through to the separate lounge, which features a multi-fuel log burner for cosy nights in, two comfy leather sofas, coffee table and the 'Smart TV' where you can gain access to Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime with your own personal log in. There is a large, luxurious bathroom on the first floor, complete with freestanding bath tub, double shower and twin sinks with feature waterfall taps. The master bedroom is on the second floor with gorgeous views across the valley. The family bedroom is on the first floor (opposite the family bathroom) with views up the valley too and has full-size bunk beds, a single bed and feature fireplace. The outside space comprises a beautiful south-facing garden to the front, overlooking the stream, with views of the hills and the valley, perfect for sitting out on sunny days and evenings listening to the birds. There is also an enclosed kitchen patio to the rear of the cottage, perfect for morning coffee. The cottage has it's own private driveway with parking for one car, but unfortunately, the property can not accommodate electric cars currently as we do not have an EV charging point. The nearest charging point is at Abergynolwyn railway station, a 10 minute walk from the village signposted for the Talyllyn Railway. We will consider some alternative connection to the property, but this must be agreed prior to booking to see if we can meet your needs, and will incur an additional charge to be agreed. Pet Policy
* One small well-behaved dog allowed. We will consider other requests for pets, but please contact us prior to booking to see if we can meet your needs.
* They must not be left alone or unsupervised in the cottage at any time, unless in a secure crate.
* No-go areas - they must not be allowed upstairs, in the bedrooms or on the furniture.
* It’s your responsibility to clean up after your pet – p**p and hairs.

Abergynolwyn is a popular village for people seeking to visit the famous Talyllyn Railway, climb up Cadair Idris, one of the Welsh Three Peaks, or visit the sandy beaches of Tywyn & Aberdovey.
