Summer is drawing to a close but round here, that’s not always a bad thing. The colours will start changing soon, the water level will make for a real whitewater experience and we get a new batch of visitors for winter. What’s your favourite thing about the lakes in autumn?

If you are looking for something to do this Bank Holiday weekend, you could try the season finale at Cartmel Races on Monday. If you are in or around Kendal this evening you can catch the Gateway Beer & Music Festival at The Gateway Inn or if you are feeling energetic in the morning, you can try one of the Guided Wainwright Walks - Hills and Mountains of the Lakes tours that start from Ambleside with The Lakes Mountaineer.
Whatever you fancy, there is always something going on in the Lakes.
