Head to Coniston and visit the National Trust's Steam Yacht Gondola. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Coniston Water.

🐾 Meet the adorable furry residents of Crake Valley Holiday Park! 🐶

Say hello to our three lovable Maltese dogs:
Louis, the ultimate fashionista, and our two show dogs , Pablo and Herbeta! 🐾💜🩷🐾
Pablo recently clinched 2nd place in the puppy class at the prestigious Crufts Dog Show, while Herbeta wowed everyone with a 3rd place win in the junior class.

So now things have settled down a bit we just want to say thank you to everyone who helped, supported, lined the roads and bridges and wished us well, there are way too many people to thank personally on here, but thank you to everyone who helped bring Bluebird K7 back home to Coniston.

Exciting times are ahead, as we have now reported we do plan to run her on Coniston Water, we would like to do this in 2026 which would be 70 years since Donald did his first record on Coniston Water, but we have to speak with LDNPA and the other authorities.

Coniston Water is a public highway with a 10mph speed limit and we can’t just take K7 down to the lake and launch her without the correct permissions BUT we do want to run her and will now start the process.

When K7 is run, she will be run in tribute to her brave pilot Donald Campbell CBE, and it will be a celebration of his achievements and his legacy.

K7 has no engine fitted as yet, but we have the engine in the wing waiting and once we get into low season we will arrange to have the engine fitted.

We have been inundated with offers of help from industry, organisations and individuals so we have the expertise at hand to fit the engine and to run her.

And finally we would like to say we have no intention of wiping The Bluebird Project from history, we are a Museum, we are all about history.
The recovery of K7 is already told in the Bluebird Wing and has been since the wing was opened, and we will now add the story of the restoration.

It has been said many times before but we would like to publicly say to Bill Smith and the volunteers of The Bluebird Project, “Thank you all”, your work is exemplary, you have done a magnificent restoration and you will always be the people who restored Bluebird K7.

We will continue to update everyone on here so please “follow” or “like” our page for updates.

We will reopen to the public on Tuesday 19th March at 10am.

After 23 years Donald Campbell’s world record breaking Jet Hydroplane, Bluebird K7 returned to Coniston

Bluebird K7 will displayed in her forever home in the Bluebird Wing of The Ruskin Museum.
