Wonderful evening at The Cricketers on The Green last night. Love the January menu and would thoroughly recommend the Crispy Cantonese Pork Stir Fry and the Butter Chicken Curry. Desserts were great and the service amazing as always !

Winter-Time

Winter-Time at Whistlestop Cottage....long, invigorating walks in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, curling up on restful sofas in front of a cosy fire whilst reading a favourite book or watching your favourite film, taking a relaxing soak in our spacious bath, and as the day draws to a close, snuggling down in super comfortable beds, with extra throws provided.

The Snowdrop Fairy ~ By Cicely Mary Barker (1923)

Cicely Mary Barker was an English illustrator. Since the first publication of her Flower Fairies in 1923, they have enchanted both adults and children alike around the world. The botanically accurate drawings in the 170 original illustrations, coupled with the enchanting fairy images based on real children from Cicely’s sister’s nursery school, appeal to our innate sense of magic and wonder.

Originally accompanied by a poem or verse dedicated to the individual Flower Fairy the charming characters and detailed artwork have also been translated into fiction for young readers as well as the New York Times bestselling Fairyopolis series.
