Are you a New Year Resolution person? I have to say I’m not and I never feel like setting new goals for the year ahead when we’re still in deep winter! In nature’s calendar the new year doesn’t start until the spring Equinox and that isn’t until March! So - don’t feel bad if you aren’t feeling the ‘New Year, New You’ just yet. You’ve got time to hunker down, embrace slow and plan for the year ahead. If you want your 2025 to include an out of the ordinary, sustainable mini break at a secluded, romantic, fairytale cabin ……….. we can help out with that! 💚

Amongst the jouous cacophony of Christmas we hope you all find a moment of peace in which to pause, take a deep breath and think about the most important people, places and special memories made in 2024. Time to press the reset button for the year ahead and we wish you all a calm, uncluttered Christmas & New Year, full of moments that create lasting memories. We are looking forward to spending time with dear family and friends and realise these times should never be taken for granted. We would like to thank all our wonderful guests, followers, local business supporters & partners this year. We love being able to share this incredible place & our little cabin with you. We love that this special place has become part of so many stories. Long may it stir in so many souls. Wishing you all - health, happiness, love & light. #

Anyone else felt the zingy freshness in the early morning air and noticed the ever so subtle change in light this past few weeks? We can’t deny it, the telltale signs of autumn creeping her way in are there - she’s poised & waiting patiently ….. but so are we and we can’t wait! We LOVE LOVE LOVE autumn here & the cabin is a totally idyllic place to come for an immersive autumn adventure! We have all the ingredients you need for an unforgettable autumn mini break ..Misty mornings 🧡Cute cosy cabin 🧡Loaded log baskets 🧡Snuggly blankets 🧡Bulging bookshelf 🧡Steaming hot tub 🧡Crackling camp fire 🧡Endless woodland walks 🧡Fiery sunsets 🧡Mind boggling night skies 🧡. Wow, its been positively tropical here at Hafod today! Who needs trips abroad when the sun shines and places like this are only a few hours away from your doorstep (ok, ok, humour me)! But seriously - a few hours spent amongst the cooling shade of the forest, the sweet lingering aroma from the honeysuckle that’s scrambling along the footpaths, followed by a lazy river side lunch with toes in the water is my kind of paradise. What’s yours?

Sometimes life gets in the way of managing our SM activities and mid life brain fog doesn’t help to be fair 😂 but that’s ok, we’re human & the struggle is real! It’s not all frolicking through the bluebells! So, if like me, you’ve lost your usual mojo…… what might really help is grabbing someone you love, or heck, go it alone hiding away for a few days in your own little dream world!! What you really need is a secluded cabin, hidden far from the madding crowds. Somewhere simple & soulful. Uncomplicated and raw yet with all the luxuries you really need to become you again. It works - trust me. We have a couple of summer and autumn dates still available if you need that ‘get back to you’ time!

It’s hard to find the words to thank our wonderful guests - new, returning & future, our followers, supporters, wonderful suppliers, family & friends. For most part, it’s amazing running this special little place, but even dreams can present as nightmares occasionally and managing the cabin is far from easy at times! However, reading all the incredible reviews and emails sent by such lovely guests, being able to help facilitate the making of magical memories & meeting some truly lovely people, makes it all SO worthwhile. Thank you all - we wish you a peaceful and love filled Christmas & we look forward to another exciting year ahead! Lee, Pip & William xx

We’re literally buzzing to finally get our hands on a copy of this gorgeous little book by Holly .
Holly approached us earlier this year to be included in her new book ‘British Cabins & Hideaways’, and of course we said yes! She has been travelling the UK staying at & photographing some mind boggling, beautiful places and the book has just been launched. We feel so honoured to have been included & a little disbelieving that the cabin features amongst its beautiful pages. If like us, you’re a little cabin crazy you can grab yourself a copy … then light the fire, snuggle up in your favourite chair and get planning your next adventure.

We have a few November dates still available at Woodcock Cabin if you’re considering a cheeky, last minute break before being whipped into a festive frenzy! The cabin allows a more languid pace of life for a few days. Lose hours wandering the woods past gushing waterfalls, ease your mind & muscles in the steaming hot tub or cosy up with a good book by the log burner. We all need to hit the pause button sometimes & autumn is the perfect time to do it!

All Hallow’s Eve, the perfect time to hunker down in your own cosy cabin after venturing out into the forest as dusk falls! It’s amazing how ‘un wild’ our lives have become. When was the last time you really felt adrenaline coursing through your veins?! Well, a walk through dark, silent forests with only the stars & moon lighting the way, can heighten your senses, ignite your imagination and make your hairs stand on end. Guaranteed to reset your survival instincts and get that adrenaline pumping through your veins! Tales from the Mabinogion eat your heart out. Just throw in a sprinkling of witches, werewolves, ghouls and gargoyles for good measure and you have the perfect recipe for long nights cuddling round the campfire listening to the noises of the night!

My little summer helper & head mischief maker went back to school yesterday and I’m missing him. The silence is heavy and everything seems a little less ‘Peter Pan’. He collected a big basket of acorns on Monday changeover to plant, which has become an obsession in our house! However, since the sheep were removed from our land 3 years ago, it’s been fascinating watching the steady, natural regeneration of so many native tree species. This year, they seem to be popping up en masse, especially oak. If you feel like you need a bit of ‘natural regeneration’ after the summer holiday (ok I’ll admit it, I really do!) we have some autumn availability. It’s a glorious time to come. The rich earthy smells, the kaleidoscope colours & incredible light. Atmospheric hanging mists that linger over the forest and long, dark dark nights that reveal mind boggling stars. There’s fungi galore, cosy fires, hot tubs, campfire cooking & a bookshelf brimming with tantalising reads for slow morning musings, all here, just waiting to help you relax, rejuvenate & reconnect.
