Cornish Cycle Tours - Self Guided Cycling Holidays in Beautiful Cornwall. Cornish Cycle Tours was created by Lanyon Rowe who prior to running cycling holidays would take a week off work each year to cycle around Cornwall. It was a great adventure and he soon realised that it was something other cyclists may like to do so come up with the idea of Cornish Cycle Tours. Back in 2007 we started out wit

h just one tour (The Cornish Tour 8 Days) now called the Poldark tour due to the popularity of the tv series and all the places featured in this series that this tour passes on route. This tour was carefully planned and designed to go on the quietest roads possible, make use of the many cycle tracks Cornwall has to offer whilst still experiencing the best of Cornwall - the scenery, the sights and the great food and drink. To take the hard work out of the cycling we would transport our customers luggage between overnight stops, Organise there accommodation, Provide transfers to and from local Railway Stations / Newquay Airport and provide them with waterproof daily Maps and easy to read step by step directions etc. We soon realised that due to peoples different fitness ability’s that one tour wasn’t enough so created more tours of different difficulties so as to make sure there was a tour suitable for everyone. Over the years we have expanded on this by offering extended tours to The Isles of Scilly off the coast of Lands End and Providing Sports Tours for the serious cyclists. In 2013 we were the first in Cornwall to introduce the hire of Electric Bikes and these were ideal for those looking to set a more leisurely pace for there holiday, or for groups with varying fitness levels. Cornish Cycle tours is the only Cycle Tour Operator in Cornwall and we now offer a range of 15 self-guided tours varying in difficulty and length to suit all fitness levels and abilities. We run easy leisure tours averaging 16 miles a day for cyclists wanting a relaxing holiday and plenty of time to visit the many attractions and sights on route. To Extreme tours such as our 4 day sport tour with an average daily distances of 64 miles and a 28% incline hill for those who want to challenge themselves. In 2020 we have expanded our tours further with the introduction of our new Luxury Tour for those who prefer a little bit more style and comfort.

The Iron Bridge built on Little Petherick Creek that links Padstow to Wadebridge on the old Railway Line now known as the Camel Trail was built in 1899.
It was a feet of engineering at the time and is one of only two railway bridges in Britain that was built on a curve.
126 years later the bridge is still in use but not for trains as originally built but for the thousands of Cyclists, pedestrians and horses that pass over it every year on the ever popular traffic free flat Camel Trail.

Wadebridge situated in the middle of the famous Camel Trail cycling route between Padstow and Bodmin is an ideal place for many of our tours to start.
Our cyclists normally start off with a stay at the Molesworth Arms
on there first night before setting off the next day.
As we can start tours on any date / Day providing it is booked in advance why not plan your tour starting on a Sunday where you can tuck into there fabulous Sunday Roast Dinner before gently burning it off with a easy ride down the flat camel trail to Padstow to get used to your hire bikes.

With Cornwall being hit by storm BERT today be careful what you're doing out and about around the coast. Luckily we haven't got anybody out cycling today which is just as well as some of our cycle paths such as this one run very close to the coastline. We wouldn't want our cyclists to get drenched like this lady and remember you cant outsmart mothernature 🌊🚶🏽‍♀️⛈

The benefits of cycling a tour this Winter are that everywhere is a lot quieter and you can take advantage of our discounted rates. The rough stormy seas can be an awesome sight to see but the weather can be risky so be sure to bring appropriate wet weather gear just in case.

We’re not salesman from Volkswagen but the works van we bought off them in 2011 has turned out to be one hell of a piece of kit. We’ve now just slipped over the 300k mile mark and drove the equivalent of 12 times around the world 🌍 which is a lot of times around Cornwall so we know the area fairly well. I'd like to say we’ve looked after it well but in reality we’ve hammered it carrying full loads of luggage, Cyclists and Bikes and not once have any of our cyclists missed a train or plane from us being late, Theres a few more miles left in him yet 🚙🛣️🚙
