It’s a little bit foggy today, but as we are a bit higher here the Sun is starting to break through.

This is a lovely pub that serves great homemade food. It’s in brough which is 4miles from the cottage. Open from 12pm Thursday to Sunday. Lovely friendly atmosphere and quick service.

I did a little bit of pressure washing today. Both my hands feel like they are going to fall off now but the yard looks good 😊

I still have so much more to do, maybe next week

Today for my change over in Rookby Cottage it was a lovely surprise to receive a very large box of chocolates, from Deborah the competition winner from September. Unfortunately she couldn’t stay in poppy cottage as she has children so she stayed in Rookby Cottage instead.
Congratulations again, we hope you enjoyed your stay

We had a request from a couple if they could bring their baby to stay in poppy cottage, I hadn’t really thought about it but we have made it work.
There is a lot more space for the travel cot. They are checking out tomorrow so I will see how it went 😊

Coming in to do a change over this morning and finding this for me really makes my day. It’s so lovely.
This is day one of six changeovers in a row from today to next Friday.. Feel lucky to be so busy and appreciate such lovely guests 🥰

If anyone would like to book a massage or reflexology when they stay in the cottage I can highly recommend Natalie at Rural ReRoot in Kirkby Stephen which is just 3 miles away. Very private, relaxing space where you can forget about the stress of every day life and take a moment for yourself.
Take a look and maybe treat yourself. Highly recommended

The northern lights are absolutely stunning tonight

We managed to get a glimpse of the northern lights last night. The dark skies here make it easier to see. It was very still as well, so quiet 🤫

The first guests are checking in the next half hour. I hope they like the cottage as much as we do.
I think it looks so good, it’s very warm and cozy which is what you need in this weather 😊
