We woke up to a beautiful snowy scene this morning, but not the best for our guests who were checking out 😬.

Unfortunately our guests couldn’t take us up on the offer of another night & to join us for dinner, so we asked them to stay warm and cosy in the Stable for a few hours, whilst the snow to stopped, Alex cleared & gritted the lane some more and eventually the plough came through.

With a little help from Alex the guest made their way up the lane and headed home. We were absolutely delighted to get the text to say they’d safely arrived home in York.

Brigstone Stable is all refreshed and ready for your next guests. Many thanks to Karin at A little TLC. Repairs and restorations by a lady who can. For all her hard work over the last 2 weeks repainting the cottage and finally making cracks in the plasterwork disappear.

We have a little unexpected availability over the next couple of weeks, if you haven’t been to Skipton Christmas market then why not stay with us a go on 1st or 8th December 🥰.

We had alovely couple stay at Brigstone Stable this weekend, here is what they said about us :

Beautiful cottage, amazing hosts
+ The cottage was amazing , beautifully decorated and presented. There was a lovely welcome pack on arrival.
Alex and Amanda are amazing hosts , they gave us lots of local information and even printed out a map with a cycle route for us.They allowed us to store our bikes in their garage which was really appreciated.
They also gave us a late checkout which was lovely. Definitely will return and already recommending the cottage to family and friends.

“What a lovely weekend break we had at Brigstone Stable for our anniversary. We met Alex who checked us in and showed us around the house and garden. Such a beautiful place to relax in, special touches throughout. We cooked both nights in the kitchen which had all the necessary amenities. The Pennine Was is so close with numerous walks. We had a lovely chat with Amanda and Alex, they are perfect hosts. We throughly enjoyed our stay and it would be nice to visit in colder months to make use of the log burner. Highly recommended.”

Happy New Year!
After our NY guests checked out this morning, and taking advantage of a dry day, Alex & I went litter picking along Babyhouse Lane, near Brigstone Stable, all the wind & rain revealed quite a bit - the 5 bin bags we collected just about fit in Alex’s bike trailer.

“Beautiful, homely accomodation with wonderful amenities and offset by gorgeous countryside with the most lovely hosts. Such a calming place to visit, would definitely recommend to anyone whether it's adventuring through Yorkshire hiking or biking, or just finding a moment to breathe and read a book next to the fire. Locally sourced produce and handmade soap were an incredible touch too!”
