BESPOKE HIKE - GOWBARROW & AIRA FORCE 🌊

Annie booked in for a bespoke half-day hike which would involve some beautiful scenery and a waterfall - what better than a trip up to Gowbarrow and a mandatory stop at Aira Force!

Winter sunrise in the Peaks 🌞

After a last minute check of the weather, a cloud inversion X sunrise was looking promising in the Peak District.

We parked in Castleton (which was super quiet) and made our way up! After seeing the chaos on Mam Tor & Winnats Pass, we opted to sit on the quiet ridgeline that lies 500m South East.

A pure, snowy and solitude sunrise with a cloud inversion, does it get any better?

What a lovely NYD hike guiding some lovely people! 🎆

We weren’t sure what the weather was going to do with mixed forecast reports - but the sun came out and the rain held off!

We started at Pelter bridge car park and continued up to a little nosey at Rydal Cave, even better when we had it all to ourselves! We cracked on to Grasmere and took the coffin route back.

A very wholesome group hike 😊

The forecast said we were going to get battered by the elements, but it’s turned out rather lovely 🌞

JANUARY EVENTS 🚨

Start the year as you mean to go on and join us for two epic hikes in January!

🥾 Ullswater Way - Starting in Glenridding, this 20 mile hike offers some fantastic views of the surrounding fells, the famous 65ft Aira Force waterfall and endless opportunities for exploration!

🥾 Derwentwater Way - Starting in Keswick, the Derwentwater way is a beautiful circular hike which will incoprate a trip up to the top of the famous Catbells!

OUR FAVOURITE SHOT OF 2024!

With so many miles covered and so many places visited this year, this stunning picture we took of the CMD Arete and the North face of Ben Nevis on one of our group hikes!

On the way up from Torlundy, the conditions were awful - as we approached the summit of CMD (Carn Mor Dearg) and the conditions turned into the above 😍

Merry Christmas 🎅

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year, we couldn’t have done it without your faith in our guidance!

2024 has been a mega one, with 2025 shaping up to be even bigger - So many of you have already booked with us next year!

We have guided hundreds of people so far this year with blood, sweat and tears going into your efforts - the hard work is always worth the mental or physical reward 💪🏼

Big thank you to all of our supporting Mountain Leaders and MCI’s, again we could not have run some of our events without you all!

Our next hike is New Years Day, which has a couple of spaces left available - kick off 2025 with fresh air and a full reset in the outdoors!

Last group hike of 2024 🚨👇🏼

A fantastic turnout for our Winter Solstice group hike - Some old faces and some new!

As the met office issued yellow weather warnings, we opted to stay on lower level. Although it was little gusty in places, there was smiles all round throughout the day. Challenging weather offers a bigger sense of achievement by the end of the day!

I am very proud to introduce the new member of the Trekking Tom Experiences team, Oli Blenkinsop - please give him a warm welcome! He is a qualified Mountain Leader, Mountain Bike Leader, first aid trained and has bags of experience.

It’s a privilege to have him on board, as someone who has a huge passion for the outdoors! Here’s what Oli has to say 👇🏼

Born and raised in County Durham, I’ve always felt at home in nature. These days, I spend as much time as possible exploring the Lake District, my local playground. I’m also building my experience in Scottish and winter conditions, with aspirations for future adventures on skis.”
