Happy Birthday Your Majesty!

Today as The Queen turns 96, we’re sharing this photograph taken when she was 2-years-old.

Then Princess Elizabeth, she was the eldest daughter of The Duke and Duchess of York and was never expected to become Queen. Her life changed in 1936 when her uncle, King Edward VIII abdicated, and her father became King George VI and the young Princess became the heir presumptive.

Following the sad death of her father in 1952, Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II aged just 25, and this year is celebrating 70 years on the throne - a first in British history.

IMPORTANTE: Da venerdì 11 gennaio il Regno Unito ha annunciato nuovi cambiamenti per chi viaggia dall'Italia ed è completamente vaccinato (2 dosi in totale).

Infatti, non sarà più necessario fare alcun tipo di tampone prima o dopo l'arrivo in Gran Bretagna nè di autoisolarsi. Sarà solo necessario compilare un passenger locator form prima di partire.

Per chi invece non è vaccinato, non sarà più necessario il test il giorno 8 ma solo un test pre-partenza e il test del giorno 2 dopo l'arrivo. L'autoisolamento per i non vaccinati è necessario solo se si risulta positivi dopo il test del giorno 2.

Highclere Castle
Highclere, Hampshire, England

Highclere Castle was first built in 1679 and was extensively renovated in the 1840s. The park was designed by Capability Brown in the 1700s. Highclere Castle is is the country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon, which is a branch of the Anglo-Welsh Herbert family.
It is also famous for having been used as filming location for the Wodehouse comedy series "Jeeves and Wooster" and for the historical drama series "Downton Abbey".
