Set just a stones throw away from Hadrians Wall, the incredible rolling countryside and historic views around Wagtail provide the perfect rural break.

Far enough out to escape everyday hustle and bustle, but close enough to fantastic pubs, restaurants and visitor centres if you wish to explore. 🌲

We love recommending local delights to our guests and, although Wagtail is set in a beautiful area of peaceful countryside, we are so fortunate to have fantastic pubs and restaurants within a close drive.

✨ Milecastle Inn is one of our favourites - A welcoming, cosy atmosphere and delicious home cooked meals - We highly recommend the tender Sunday roasts and chocolate orange cake

✨ Twice Brewed Inn offers cracking beer, brewed in-house. Our recommendation is a trio tasting beer board paired with a Twicey burger or romana pizza, for a midweek treat.

✨ The Greenhead Hotel is our favourite nearby lunch spot - The interior is gorgeous, everything on the menu is delicious and their wine menu ticks all our boxes 🥂

✨ If you are celebrating a special occasion or really love incredible food, we can’t recommend Hjem highly enough. It’s exceptional.
