My husband is crazy!
He enjoys an Ultra Run or 2 every year 😳
Yesterday he competed in the Montaine Way Ultra, at Ullswater.
He came a very respectable place in the whole race, his age and also in the males.
The Cabins are a great base if you fancy a challenge, or even want to train surrounded by beautiful new scenery
Phil is always happy to help plan a local route. He knows our local area like the back of his hand!
Phil and I were gifted some vouchers for Christmas, we decided to use them tonight for our wedding anniversary.
We travelled to Ulverston, about a 35 minute drive from us, to have dinner at L'al Churrasco and boy it didn't disappoint.
What a lovely little restaurant, serving Mediterranean tapas. We shared 8 dishes (they recommend 7, however there was too much we wanted to try 😂) and it was delicious! My personal favourite was the beetroot and goats cheese topped with roasted seeds. The belly pork was a close second!
The online booking system made booking really easy. The staff were attentive and lovely. Food absolutely top notch. Very reasonably priced too. A definite 10/10.
I think this may become a regular thing, looking at their fb page the menu changes often, keeping it fresh and exciting!
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, we were too wrapped up in conversation and amazing food!
You'll just have to take my word for it that it's worth a visit 😊
Had a little bimble out with Phil and the dogs to our local beach.
Situated about 2.5 miles from the cabins, it is on The Cumbria Coastal way.
If you take a left at the beach and follow the path, you come across Tarn Bay Treats, a little treat hut, which has all sorts!
Hot drinks, cans of pop, sweets and cake 😋plus ice cream!
Fab little stop to recharge!
I never get tired of this little walk up our local fell.
Our waterfall may not be the most spectacular, but it's my favourite ❤️
The Isle of Man looked absolutely stunning this evening. I've not seen it like that for a long time.
So lucky to live here!

Ive just been looking at the weather to make a few weekend plans, it's looking good 🌞

Today Phil and Ruby took advantage of the sunshine and Easter Holidays and had a walk out with the dogs
They drove 10 mins to Muncaster Castle and left the car there, before following the Eskdale Trail over Muncaster Fell, stopping off at King George IV Inn Eskdale for a quick Haggis Pasty and a BLT to refuel before the walk back.
This is one of the many beautiful walks right on our doorstep
Safe to say there will be good sleeps all round tonight. Dogs were absolutely flat out the moment they got home 😂

Here at the Cabins we love our garden, hanging baskets and flowers.
Phil loves his Sunflowers. Every year he plants lots, this years we're out of last years seeds. None have grown very high and we have lots of mini ones.
Ive never seen them so sturdy with thick stalks.
Sunflowers are my favourite, so bright, colourful and always happy 🌞
